What is the best way to grind units?

I am a new valiant. I want as many units as possible before december. I have 100 now.

Lots and lots of arena. Pretty much your only option as far as farming goes, and then make sure you do the daily quest and the SDE every day too.

At minimum you need to be doing the basic and featured arena twice a week every week. The summoner's trials arena is also a great source of units, but it can be a bit of a slog depending on how large of a roster you have. Also you need to do the daily quest that comes with the tickets. You get 15 units Monday through Saturday and 70 on Sunday from that

Setting a goal you can achieve for summoners trial is a big help. I complete the other 2 and can comfortably knock out 8 (1 milllion) in the 4 star arena. You can do less, but at least get to 150k. Those are super easy units to get. Also do the extra catalyst/crystal arenas until you get to the 20 unit milestone (30 total). Usually a quick 5 rounds…. In my mind, I use these to pay for turning off and on recoils as needed for other stuff.
