Bastion

I am seeing a lot of conflicting opinions on Bastion, on the forums and from content creators.
So, how good is he really?
Good, if you don't have Jack? Good, even if you have Jack? More utility?

I love Bastion and his utility. However, I do run max tech collar and have the sentinel relic on him, so I don't know if I'd like him as much if I didn't have those. But I'm pretty sure I still would.

bastion better than jack , more utility , jack is a class canon if you get hit you losing half your hp, bastion takes more match up outside of mutuant class

I have both ranked up. I prefer bastion in bgs or war because with jack you want to intercept and the ai is so garbage that it makes that playstyle more dangerous than it has to be but both are amazing

I have both rank up. Bastion is better purely for his utility and amount of fights he can take. But lantern has tons of utility too and is really fun character. I use both in battlegrounds they both can deal with some difficult defenders. In war bastion is the way more useful. In SQ and EQ both are great

Jack is the faster nuke in BGs and safer for current mutants because of reversed control immunity and basically permanent heal from energy damage like neuroshock and crit failure, but AW definitely Bastion. They're honestly both wort having ranked up regardless tho.

I hate jack because if his cruelties fell down it is very tough to build back and to prevent them from falling you need to intercept. Bastion on the other hand if his virus mode fall of you can build it back just within two combos. Also bastion has a lot more utility than jack. Jack has reverse control immune though, which is very valuable against jean, thats the only edge for jack over bastion. I wouldn't say rank both though, one is enough imo. Both do almost same kind of matchups.

I have Jack at R4, Bastion at R3. That’s the best way I can put it.

However, I’m much more focused on BG’s, so a nuke with reverse control immunity is more useful to me.

But Bastion is more useful for a wider range of content, AW for example. And although he is more useful for match-ups outside his class, it’s mostly due to the pursuit. Unfortunately, for BG’s that tends to interfere with his rotation and timing.

Bastion is one of my favorite Champions.

His Special 1 is awesome doing great damage.

And as defender my R3 is spanking rivals on BG 🤣

Jack is better as a BGs nuke especially vs mutants

Bastion is more versatile as his damage is disintegration, but is more useful in war

It's mostly only BG's for me.

Either way it's always better to have multiple options for problem defenders..

bastion has a psychic shielding tag but it’s broken. He would have been a killer if that was working.

Bastion has pretty well become my non-mutant Bullseye counter with his reliable pursuit passive, I use him in AW all the time.

No, it only prevents certain types of Reversed Controls, from champs who do it psychically, like Emma Frost.

It won't prevent other forms of a reversed Controls, so for Science champs who inflict reverse controls (Mister Negative, High Evolutionary), #Psychic Shielding doesn't work. And it doesn't help for most nodes that inflict it, or against Nameless Grandmaster in the Necropolis.

#Psychic Shielding also prevents a few other things, like Stryfe's invisibility, and Professor X's Vigilance ability. Possibly others, but I can't remember.

bastion is by far better in general due to his huge utility. Jack however is far superior in bgs though. Against mutants it’s Jack, but he suffers a lot against non mutants unlike bastion
