Coliseum Podiums upgrade materials vs. direct DB update

So, let me get this straight:

It's easier to write the functionality to send all players the upgrade materials than to make a direct update on the database and set all podiums to level 8?

Just trying to wrap my head around how a big company works...

Tbf this was not a bug in the game, from an alliance mate he bought 330k tokens in webstore and google store had 3300 🤣

Because sending out a mass mail to every player in the game is definitely harder than coding. 🤣

In an actual big company, no one is updating master tables on an enterprise level of all users without a week of interdepartmental meetings, with someone from the db group reminding everyone that data tables aren't spreadsheets, someone from systems complaining about backup discrepancies and who owns the data change, and production arguing that ultimately this change should start on client side, hence the rank up workflow.

The db guy could totally do it if he wanted to though, and get fired for cause.

Isn't this better? You could use these tokens for next coliseum as well. Right now you can use just enough to get to the max solo rewards and then save the remaining for later. Ofc unless you are in a competitive ally and are targeting ranked rewards.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. But yes, it is much easier to send a message to a distribution list with every player in the game, especially if you don't need to worry about sorting through the names, than it is to write new code. They already have that list anyway. It's the same one they use for all the other in-game announcements.

I was 100% being sarcastic, given OP's comment.

I'm aware it's much easier to send out a mass mail to all players in the game but OP seems to think coding something in the game was the easy route.
