Is there a forum bias?

This will probably go over like a fart in church. I find it concerning that a moderator removed anything I posted even remotely hinting at negativity towards a 5-Star member I was debating with but then left his comments that were open attacks on me and in direct violation of forum rules. Sadly, these posts are still up after days. I’m addressing it now because I’m recovering from terrible illness and checked up on it. I’m not sure how a person could be so strict in one direction and then miss this sort of thing in the other. Is there possibly a massive bias towards senior members? Really, the question is how could you even report this sort of networked bias and to whom?

Thumbs down from the good ol’ boys, lol. They think this kind of talk is ok. The fact is that a moderator will remove this post within about ten minutes, and I’ll be banned by those who are allowing it. For those who see it for the moment, you needed to know. Does this look appropriate to you? Should such posts be allowed if you are 5-star and connected? Seriously, there are many other issues that I’ve noticed from members, but I do believe that Kabam could crack down harder on this sort of thing and make the forums a better place. Why isn’t that happening?

Still up? Maybe the moderator agrees with my concern, and accountability is coming for arbitrary and unnecessary personal attacks from any and ALL members? Not that it matters much what this was all about, but there was an issue with a clarifying picture not loading for me, so I misunderstood what this poster was trying to demonstrate. That does NOT justify the hostile rhetoric. The comments should have been removed, and the user should have been warned.

A handful are trying to thumbs down (I could take a wild guess as to their star ratings), but nobody is able to offer a rational defense for this sort of thing. 100 and counting have seen it. I’d say that you have been briefly exposed no matter what happens now. Please treat others with respect if you are a senior member, and consider politely stepping the less experienced through their potential error. I’ve seen some of you get very harsh with people very quickly and hurl attacking insults. Yes, this is a violation. Why it doesn’t get caught and recognized when I know the mod is seeing it is beyond me. Let this be a lesson that we are all watching, and please try to do better (even when the poster is clearly dead-wrong).

I didn't care to even open the post on torrez... nor I will read it. He ain't replacing the science goats. If he is needed in future, great! I got him at decent sigs unluckily.

Here's a thumbs down just for the sake of thumbs down. Becuase that's how things go in forums. Mentions disagree: Boom 10+ disagree spawns on that comment from people not even relevant in that discussion (including myself).

My advice is to just move on. Clobberin' Time likely has personal issues in his life and he takes it out on random forum members by posting nasty escalatory attacks for no reason. Just ignore him.

I think I take the crown as the forums most jailed member and I'm still here for some reason.

(In case you didn't know the forums has a feature to jail someone for a period of time to prevent them from making posts and only make like 1 comment a minute or something like that. It's kind of like you're in front of the kabam firing squad for that duration.)

There could be multiple reasons for that (which no one but kabam knows for certain) but the only correlation I could draw between forum mods is that I'm funny way more than I am stupid.

I don't think it's particularly a bias toward senior members. We've seen people get insta banned for saying absolutely heinous stuff no matter how long they've been here.

I'd say it just comes down to what the mods think your value vs detriment to the platform is

Since we are on this topic and the thread has enough points to not get shadow banned, can @KabamPinwheel or @Kabam (Osaurus) Rex give us insight on to what is happening with the forum moderation. Maybe you and the guardians are doing things behind the scenes and warning people but even then, it doesn't make sense why the same people can continue breaking the same rules without any consequences. For example, look at what this guy posted.

Months later, he is still allowed to post on the forums.

If I had to guess why the forums have become so bad, it would most likely be due to discord. I see you guys interacting in there so much more than on the forums. It looks like you guys just have too many platforms to deal with that you can't consistently moderate all of them. If this is the case, you guys should think about phasing out one of them.

Exactly this. ClobberinTime has been on the forums forever and has always been really active, and unless he makes a death threat or does something illegal Kabam has no reason to take action against him. The same goes for users like Peixemacaco, who make tons of sh*tposts but they're just so terminally online and create so much forum traffic for Kabam that not taking action is the most worthwhile thing for them to do.

I myself used to post a lot of crappy stuff, bad takes etc, and whenever I received any criticism I would clap back with personal insults much like ClobberinTime is doing here. As you can see, no action has been taken against me. I did receive some Community Guidelines warnings though, and ClobberinTime might've received something similar.

The point I'm trying to make is, there's nothing you can really do about this situation. Just remember that this is a public online space, and don't take anything too personally.

The way I see it, Kabam is keeping the forums as a place for endgame players to interact, while most newbies go on the Discord. IMO you go on Discord for quick rank up advice, while you go on the forums to air out your thoughts

I know how you feel my originoriginal form account got disabled to where I couldn’t post or comment on anything all because I made a pole on how many try’s before giving up there was no warning or explanation. There a lot more toxic posters/commentators out there that don’t get in trouble.

I thought this guy was banned for a long time ago, as I decided to block him and others in 2024.

He just say the things he want, mocking people, awful words and if you disagree with him he attacks you.

He and @Emilia90 did a Progress shaming against @EdisonLaw and nothing was done against them, but I came in help as they did the same against me.

Maybe you can do the same, block him.

I can promise there is not a bias in favor of any particular user or kind of user, new or old. Things missed, and often action taken against your own account is much more noticeable than against others. That said Im happy to review and try and find things that were missed, though things that happened before the current community team took over are a bit harder for us to action on just cause it happened before we were here. I will go ahead and close up this thread just because I don't think its productive to call out specific members as it often just leads to dogpiling one way or the other, but there has been some helpful feedback and opinions shared in here as well so I appreciative those being said!
