Instant Defeat at Fight Start – Okoye vs Symbiote Supreme (Event Quest Ch.3 Quest 2)

Defender: Symbiote Supreme
Issue Description:
When entering the fight against Symbiote Supreme using Okoye in January 2026 Event Quest Chapter 3 Quest 2, the fight ends instantly before any actions occur. Okoye is defeated immediately at the start of the match.
No inputs are made, no damage animation plays, and the fight summary shows 0 hits, 0 combo, 0 duration, but the defender remains at 100% health. The result screen appears instantly with Okoye at 0% HP.

The same has happened to me once in the Dec EQ, with same Okoye as attacker, i thought it was a bug

It isnt an issue. Sym instantly nullified all her buffs at fight start and killed her lol

He deals damage when nullifying a buff and Okoye starts with 15 so all her buffs are nullified and she takes a large burst of damage

Bro i think there's a difference between nullify, stagger, neutralize and fate seal.

1. Nullify

This is the most "classic" version. It removes an existing buff immediately.

How it works: When a Nullify triggers, it checks for active buffs (like Fury or Armor Up) and deletes them.

2. Stagger

Think of this as a pre-emptive strike. It is a debuff placed on the opponent that waits for them to try and gain a buff.

How it works: The next time the opponent would gain a buff, the Stagger is consumed, and that buff is instantly Nullified. It’s "Nullify on standby."

3. Fateseal

This is the "nuclear option" for buff control. It is a debuff that prevents all buffs from triggering for a set duration.

How it works: While Fateseal is active, the opponent simply cannot gain any new buffs. It doesn't usually remove existing ones upon application (unless specified by the kit), but it stops the flow entirely.

4. Neutralize

This is a newer mechanic specifically designed to counter Cosmic champions and those who rely on high "Buff Ability Accuracy."

How it works: It reduces the opponent's Buff Ability Accuracy by 100%. Unlike Nullify, it doesn't "remove" a buff; it makes it so the buff has a 0% chance to ever trigger in the first place. This bypasses nodes like "Buff Toggle" or "Resistor."

Help me understand if i was wrong at some point. Nullify means just removing existing ones, that doesn't mean damage should be inflicted right? In any case, I'll have a look at symbiote supreme mechanics and get more

Oh, you mean like longshot? Longshot deals huge incinerate damage when fateseal is applied, similarly symbiote supreme when nullifying? Does the same mechanic apply if i use symbiote supreme as attacker or it's just a defender mechanic for him?

Yes it will also trigger on attack.

100% chance when this blessing is triggered to immediately Nullify all Buffs off the Opponent.
3643.9 Direct Damage is Passively dealt to the Opponent for each Buff Nullified, based on Genetic Potential.

Why are we using Okoye against sym supreme to begin with, she has a million precision buffs which supreme automatically nullifies, killing her instantly

It’s like the people who (for whatever reason) get the bright idea to use Okoye against Nico and wonder why they get dropped off at the start of the fight
