This is Archangel's first 7-star appearance... Let be plain first before he gets his ascension and see what damage he has... Oh think of this way 7-star Quake with an asension verison to come along... Thats a lot of fire power.

Usually I would agree that they are completely focussed on money grabbing, but this is too far. Archangel is already a disgustingly broken champion, and he absolutely does not need ascension. Think of him like torch, he's that OP. He's not a new champion to be ascendable at launch, imagine if torch was ascendable. They might make more money selling him later, but its necessary to stop a ridiculously OP champion being even more OP. If anything, not releasing ascension on launch where the hype is worse for them, and at least makes sure that we ftp players will not be facing an ascended archangel without even having him at all on our end.

I'm js wondering why they are releasing 7 star archangel. Is it js a convenient time to release a fan favorite to overshadow the recent criticism of the game?

this was obvious when they sold 7* trophy champs (Deadpool, Weapon x) and didn’t give you the first appearance PFP upon the introduction of said 1st appearances. They sold Deadpool last year and recently re-sold him with his 1st appearance and ascensions as separate milestones. I’m assuming Weapon X will be the same either 4th of July or Black Friday. Ascension I can understand being separate (tho the presumed cost is a bit nuts)… but I still don’t understand why the first appearance isn’t “given” to those who bought it originally. As it was purchased as the respective character/rarity first appearance 🤔

Lol "balance" Like Kabam cares about balance if they truely did Dark Phoenix and all the busted defenders would have been nerfed same thing with all the busted attackers, instead they nuked the rebalance programme (not that I liked them they take far too long to do anything ) lol Kabam and balance should never be in the same sentence..

Also no champion is truly busted in this game, there's always nodes and many interactions to stop them, the closest was quake even then power gain will screw her over it's all about the money…

Yes but 'busted' is relative. There is no definition for busted that says that the champ should work everywhere in the game. If one champ works in 95/100 scenarios while all the others only work in 70/100, the champ is busted, nodes be damned.

I hate that argument because it’s so easy not to use those champs for those who it bothers that much. I still like Spider-Woman but I definitely miss her ensnare. Not the same champ she was before. I been playing around with SF Blade and definitely miss the aar on his danger sense. If he had it with the atrophy, he still wouldn’t be a “broken” champ.

not surprised. They kind of established this with Kitty not being ascendable. They’re going to pick n choose. CGR, Ghost, Doom, Kate, etc likely won’t be ascendable when they are released.

Archangel hasn’t been an effective BGs champ since well before 6*s became obsolete for the reasons above. Far too many champs are poison and/or bleed immune. Even the champs he does work for, he’d lose out as soon as there would be a stun immunity mode or any node that impacts your ability to heavy attack.

He was always great for questing but not remotely worth 36k (if that’s what they’re selling him for) given the variety of great champs we have now. Even in questing he’s still sitting behind Jean and Onslaught in most scenarios.

I know archangel is very good champ and he really covers more ground in aw than in bg imo he should have been the new chase champ in next saga I bet many people would have liked to get him that way because he doesn't deserve 36k units he isn't human torch who destroys a whole class so he could have been a great chase champ

I don't know what's funnier that he's mad because he thinks Kabam didn't give us ascended AA because he's too strong and they're greedy (mind you bleed and poison are the most common immunities currently) or that he's worried about Ghost who is going to be completely mid because her kit just doesn't mix well with the current game meta, if she can't make them miss she's **** lol

How exactly is it greedy then? He’s not going to impact the meta in any meaningful way so him being ascendable or not is quite irrelevant.

While this isn't a thing quite yet, eventually, under this new system, Kabam will no longer be able to monetize sig stones or catalysts at all.. so yeah moving into the future they will monetize ascension material (the new catalysts) and champs as well

He'll be fine without the ascension. Like Cull, the extra block proficiency from the stat focus and via the relic will help. I am way more surprised at the Pig ascension since power sting immunity is far more rare than bleed/poison immunity.

Even if Kabam gave a reason why certain champs aren't ascendable right now, would the community accept their reasoning? Probably not, lol.

i dont think aa will be at 36k units , he be more around 10k units like the cyberdeal. the top millstone will be ham ascend and rank5 materials.
