Assassin Assignments and Merc Missions Discussion Thread

Summoners!

The Battlerealm is in disarray. Thanos has been defeated, but the Grandmaster has been stripped of his power, and has gone missing! The Contest of Champions has descended into chaos, with many groups fighting for control. Many Champions have found themselves finding work as Mercenaries, using this chaos as a chance to make a quick buck. Amongst them, we find the legendary mutant mercenary, Domino hunting down the biggest and baddest, and she needs your help to bring in the most lucrative of scores!

Domino will have a steady stream of Assassin Assignment quests to Explore, and if you impress her enough on one of those, she may even give you and your whole Alliance a bigger contract: Merc Missions.

Assassin Assignments and Merc Missions start June 6th at 10am Pacific Time, and will be available until July 2nd at 5pm Pacific Time! You must update to version 18.1 to be able to participate in these events.

I really don't understand why there's a four hour window with a cool down and not just an 11 hour window.

Basically I see myself ignoring this quest a ton because it'll pop up when I'm at work or about to go to bed. And with a 13 fight master and an hour time limit (meaning can't start it and come back to it later), it's not an event you can squeeze into a really brief window you have in your day.

Like the Stark assignments, I see myself doing maybe 25% of them total. Perhaps less. Which is fine I suppose. It'll be a lighter month for me. But it's unfortunate that to maximize rewards, you need to have a bunch of free time or not work a job that is somewhat rigorous.

More time demanding, random proc content with a weird cycle. game keeps getting worse. and the gift i received did not undo the damage that was done during the first week of infinity dungeons.

Honestly, I don't mind it. I'll do it when I'm free, and if I miss some, so be it. It's not necessary to arrange our lives around it.

Those rewards are really bad for the time it will require. Sometimes i feel like this game will just rip you off and i never going to believe those rewards are appealing to an end game player. It just frustrating how this events are just killing my desire to play that game.

When you first announced these Assassin assignments you made it look like something special is coming, just to find out that it is a old boring to much of a chore game mode which nobody liked with A new name For the old name.

How exciting is this old event coming our way, just called differently .... can’t wait to never touch it.

I’m reserving judgment for now, but my play time is on the decline with the flurry of events this past month. Once fixed, dungeons were a pretty good addition, but I stole the time to run mine from other areas of the game. Oddly, with so much to do in game, I found myself enjoying time away from it more and more.

I’m not usually a fan of anything generated randomly by this game. I’m pretty sure that will also apply to the times and circumstances Merc events are generated. But I’m willing to keep an open mind until I see them.

On topic, the overall concept of the events seems cool but the execution is way off. Punishes too many players who have real life commitments like work, family and school.

Add into it the effort and rewards compared to this month. 3 fights per day vs 26 for less shards. It also requires you to be in fully active alliances whereas a growing number of players are going the opposite way of going into semi-retirement due to the time commitments.

I basically only did dungeons when an alliance member needed someone to go with but otherwise skipped those. I will likely miss a lot of these as well.

Really disappointing. Kabam indicated 5* shards would be more available but that seems to be wildly inconsistent with time & energy needed as well as payouts for said time.

Sorry kabam I will not gonna touch this boring event. Haven't touch dungeons and arena, did not touch uncollected last two months. Happy with heroic and master mode and not gonna waste more money now

Whilst this is a cool kinda event a 13 fight event every 11 hrs.....
A bit mich.....
Especially when the window of time to do it is so small... like it will be when we are asleep ir at work....
Why not make it less but tougher fights???
Why not make it every 11 hrs but available for the entire 11 hrs

My play time is whittling down to zero, I'm pretty much just logging in to move in AQ and AW at this point. I've given up grinding arena beyond affording map 5 donations, I've given up buying the monthly subscription offer because every 5* pull is garbage, I gave up on dungeons after day 2.

The game is getting seriously stale and Kabam needs to start putting out challenging content that has genuinely desirable rewards attached for end-game players. Waiting for the same paltry amount of T5B shards every month is worse than watching paint dry. Where are the T5B shards, where are the 5* awakening gems?

I'm bored, Kabam, I'm seriously bored with your game.

You could have gotten a 5* awakening gem if you had done dungeons.

Thanks for rerolling stark assignments and bounty missions.... not. These events suck. Randomly triggered events in crazy intervals of the day. Not worth the hassle or the minuscule rewards. Let's try to come up with more fun and rewarding events. This **** is beginning to become quite the DRAG AND NOT FUN AT ALL!!!

no. they didn't say anything about that. the only way to proc them is to do the assignments

I agree. And why is there a gap between missions? That makes people with a real life unable to enjoy the event. I am in college and have 2-3 hours max of free time per day, and all at once. What do I get out of this event? Nothing.
