**WINTER OF WOE - BONUS OBJECTIVE POINT**
As previously announced, the team will be distributing an additional point toward milestones to anyone who completed the Absorbing Man fight in the first step of the Winter of Woe.
This point will be distributed at a later time as it requires the team to pull and analyze data.
The timeline has not been set, but work has started.

This is on top of not being able to access arena for units & battlechips due to the overheating issue.

That’s what odins are for. Didn’t you know that?
The direction to play "if we choose" isn't helpful. We don't know what maps to run and how to determine if it will be worth running maps with the same costs. How will we be compensated? If we choose to pay for a map, are we just paying/playing for the map completion rewards since many of the top ranking alliances have already achieved all milestone rewards? OR will you retroactively give us the milestone rewards from this week in addition to the compensation? Please give more feedback to address these concerns. Again, no one knows that to do.
Even so, I’m beginning to wonder if the overheating issue isn’t thornier than originally thought. Could be the reason for radio silence here.

None whatsoever. I dropped us to map 3. Not going to waste treasury resources for map 5 with this catastrophe.
At least one of our officers didn't get the word and accidentally started Map 2 on day 2. I don't know how that will factor into Kabam's compensation calculations, but while I'm paranoid and check everything in this game as if it is deliberately trying to trick me into doing something stupid, I don't think the players in general are supposed to be required to do that. I think Kabam is going to have to address the problem of alliances getting less rewards than normal due to the problem not just due to the bracket problem, but also the default map reset issue, AND the fact that because they have not been clear on what's going on it is entirely possible they paralyzed some alliances into not running AQ at all.
I think the objectively fair position is that all three issues are entirely Kabam's responsibility. But like many problems, there isn't a perfect way to address it. That's why you're supposed to avoid generating problems. If it were me, I would reset every alliance to the bracket they started this week in after the end of this week, assuming we still need brackets (brackets will go away once they decide to push peak milestones live). I would also refund all AQ costs for this week, no matter what alliances chose to do. This would include any potions used within an AQ map specifically.
I don't have a conservative way to deal with the problem that alliances may have done different things this week than normal, due to the unexpected changes, either running the wrong map or not running anything in the confusion. There's also the problem of what to do about alliances that were in advanced and were promoted to expert this week, and then had this week mess up. So I think what I would do if I were in charge is I would look at the points scored by every alliance last week, and then give them the *peak milestone* rewards and associated rank rewards they would have earned this week had peak milestones been live. This essentially treats this week as if peak milestones went live and every alliance did just as well this week as last week, which I think is reasonably fair.
In total, every alliance that spent anything to start or run a map this week would get that refunded, including potions. Every alliance, whether the bracket reset and default map reset caused a problem or not, would get the rewards they would have earned this week had peak milestones went live and they replicated their performance last week, which means everyone would get *at least as much* rewards as they would have, had there been no bugs (because the updated rewards are higher than the current ones for a given level of performance). Any alliance that got a bracket promotion wouldn't be penalized, because under peak milestone rewards that bracket promotion is accounted for in higher rewards at those levels anyway. And everyone would get to keep those wonderful map 2 crystals we're all getting.
To me, that seems entirely fair compensation. It is more rewards than we would have gotten had the brackets not been reset, but it is basically the same as the rewards we were supposed to get had peak milestones gone live, so no one could argue it is overly generous - we were supposed to get them anyway. What we are getting in compensation besides that is free maps for the week (if we choose to run them) and all potions returned, so no one pays for the broken week. And I would announce that on Monday, to give alliances the choice to decide to stop running AQ on day 3, because they aren't getting any more rewards anyway, and my solution doesn't require them to run a full week. So I would also in a sense be giving players a couple days off without losing rewards.
Whats worse is they've responded to other topics during the day, its like they are purposely ignoring this topic almost as if this is toxic
The mods work every day, but the developers probably don't. So the mods can't address any questions about this topic beyond acknowledging the issue until the developers have time starting Monday to discuss the issue, because the mods don't have the authority to make any promises or decisions beyond communicating the developers' decisions to the players.
That hardly prevents any of them saying we're sorry for the issue, and lack of response, our dev team are working as best as they can and as soon as we get an update we will forward it on. It's not that hard to do something like that, especially when there have been mods on forums responding to other topics, yet this one is the toxic one being ignored. Given the sheer scope of the topic, surely someone would be keeping an eye on it.
Where you at?!
They already have.
We have no idea if we should or shouldn’t be doing map6. Likely doing these maps for no reason. And if you chooses to save and do map3 you may be penalized later. Absolutely insane
