Fix AW matchmaking

So my alliance is currently silver 3 and is now battling a current silver 3 alliance as well. But our ass is getting rekt. 2 bgs and we only have a total of 3 defender kills with about 7 hrs left. i'm just confused, the AW window says they dont have a tier yet, but when u go to their alliance it says silver 3. And their previous tier was gold 2. Is this some kind of an error by the game or its just that alliance took a break or something?
