Emma Frost vs Sentinel (and Ultron/Vision)

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I just used Sentinel to fight Emma Frost in the danger rooms and while he's an amazing counter to her - she was able to mind control/invert controls? Can someone please explain this? Possible bug/oversight? Sentinel is a robot, Emma Frost's telepathy is utterly useless on them... same should be true with Vision and Ultron. Her inverted controls should not work on these characters.
