Collector units runout

I have ran out of units as I only started with 271 units, so now I am grinding for them in arena ( as collector is just below 35%) , is it safe? Will my progress be saved???

As long as you don't exit the Collector quest your progress will be saved

I myself was stuck in that quest for around 2days, beating collector and grinding units simultaneously.
