Warlock - bug or ignorance of the champion?

I just got a 5 Star Warlock! I took him immediately to Rank 5, awakened him, and put 20 signature levels on him.

But... he’s not doing regeneration damage when he infects the opponent. I did a test run in ROL with WS and CM and neither degenerated (I couldn’t post brief video clip).

Is there something I’m missing about the champion or is this a bug?

He only degens when power gets drained from either regen if infected it drains or non contact hits like havok or when u power drain by sp1 from infection
