Well, the title pretty much explains it.
Don't get me wrong. I know a company needs to earn money. It can't do that without these sort of deals every once in a while.
But this is honestly a spit on the face.
At least put a thronebreaker limitation on some of the deals. Someone who is willing the spend the appropriate amount of money can just jump 3 years of content with these.....

So? Why does it bother you that people who are rich or who are so addicted they are willing to spend money they don’t have on a game have an advantage?

Yeah, this is too far, spenders need an advantage yes, that’s the incentive, but this is just way too much of an advantage, its way too much

The gap between f2p and spenders are insanely high for this event. Like 1:30.
For other events it was like 1:6 maybe 1:7

Too damn early for R4 when most players in the game barely have 2 or 3 R3s. This makes me fear for the future, because if Kabam rushes this then 7* will be on the table and I don’t know how I feel about that.

You need 3 of each T3A and T6B to take a champ to rank 4. The deal today only gets a person 8% of the way there. It’ll be a long time until we see the first one in the game. It was about a year from the time that they released T5CC before somebody was actually able to take a champ to r3. I think it’ll be the same here.

Because this a competitive game. Having the latest champs, highest prestige possible, etc. all matters. Rewards are scaled accordingly with the rest of the game. These type of deals basically devalue content. People have explained this to you before when you repteadly ask the same question every time such a thing comes up.

Edit: An advantage is only okay to an extent. This is like giving a boxer (whale/dolphin) a pair of gloves made of cement while the opponent (ftp) gloves made of feather.

Same here. When I saw that they were available, I didn’t think “Oh wow! This is so exciting I can’t wait to buy them!’ I went “Damn, it’s time to stop taking this game so seriously.” So I bought up six star Nexuses (class and normal) to go for CGR (didn’t get him). Really disappointed to see how the game is going to go now that there are r4 materials.

@Kabam Miike and crew. Read this thread that will surely only grow. Been playing for 4+ years.

Best I do is AQ Map 5x5 and get a top tier 100 6* shards. Then this Spring ‘cleaning’ store comes out with rewards like this!? What are we cleaning out, WALLETS!? Can game team PLEASE spend some time to get other reward tiers fixed before leapfrogging 5x over this??? Your ‘economy’ is so messed up, as evidenced by this situation.

You run Map 5x5 and want top tier rewards? 4+ years one would think you could do map 7 and get better rewards.

Feel free to disagree but in my opinion, when deals like these include stuff that is already available throughout the content is fine. Quantity can be an issue but understable.
One problem I have, tier 3 alpha and tier 6 basic are introduced in the game first time like this and stuff like 6* awakening gems are only available through the hardest content in the game.
But hey, maybe you are right. Why not have all the advantage if you are rich enough? (Weird way of looking at the world tbh)
My main complaint was, whenever we complain the rewards are not enough, Kabam says "we want our players to progress in a balanced way, we don't want to create a rift between our regular players". Well, they can stop with that excuse.

@Demonzfyre correct. Could run Map 7 and push in War. What’s the time commitment and resulting rewards? Tremendous time commitment, for likely scraps.

Need 6* resources and T5 cats. Most event content is complete.

You won't get T5 in map 5 alliances. If you are TB, you can get it in the glory store. AQ is the main place right now for high end resources. Map 7 is not a time crunch. Even with the new links in map.7, we finished day 5 today with over 6 hours left.

I work a full time job and have 2 kids so... You'll never see top tier rewards for 5x5. Sorry to burst your bubble. Maybe when r4 7*'s are here they'll have T5cc for map 5 people.

That's why soo many people were unhappy with it. I'm sure people will soon shrug this off and continue as normal but t5cc has only just recently become relatively common. People wanted a break, from being dribbled small amounts of the next premium resource through content and offers. Now, the chase has begun again.

Its locked behind a paywall which same as r3s were, getting sick and tired of kabam doing this over and over again, of course they know whales will buy it which is a tactical business move, they were released way too early. They still are stingy with their sig stones, not giving low spenders / ftp a good amount of access to them. Last months 30 free sig stones was nice. The whale vs non whale gap is continuing to go further apart.

Well to calm you all little bit, you need 3 t6 basics and 3 t5 alphas to have r4 6 star so even if they form a full one they would still need 2 more. So you guys can calm down a bit. With that being said I'm someone with 12 r3 6 stars and I can take up another 4 right now. I have to say that introducing this t6 basics and t5 alphas behind a pay wall is a bad move first and foremost. The generic 6 star gem as well.

Secondly r3 6 stars are already the pinnacle and we don't have any content that can't be done effectively with a r5 5 star. So if you don't push out content where 6 stars are needed to complete it and not an artificial ban on 5 stars I will personally leave the game. There has to be a point in r4 6 stars and right now we literally don't even need r3 6 stars outside of AW. So its a bad strategy and it needs to be called out.

This game is supported by the ~3% that spend, and of that tiny percentage there's a lot of little spenders and a few big spenders. Most of us play for free. Of the spenders, most spend very little. This game is very progressive with taxing players: most pay nothing, the richest pay a lot. Given how many people get to play this game for free, and how many get to play this game spending nominally, it works rather well.

But you have to sell something people want to buy. You can sell small stuff to the small fish. You have to sell big stuff to the big fish. What do you sell to the whales who already have everything? More?

There's a lot of actual value in the Spring Cleaning store. Stuff that is going to have an immediate impact on every player's progress, even the F2P players will get a boost from the free and arena-grindable coins. And some of the whales will also get a big boost from the bigger offers. But the whales who have everything and for whom one more 6* Nexus might not be all that exciting? Those whales that spend on the R4 fragments are getting something they want: a shot at eventually having an advantage in the R4 race coming up. Meanwhile, they are giving up the opportunity to get some additional advantage their spending would otherwise provide. They are trading small immediate value for future excitement that literally has zero impact on the game now.

In other words, Kabam makes money off of the biggest spenders, while giving them exactly nothing today, and only a chance at something tomorrow. The advantage of those fragments is only theoretical: until you see how all future fragments get released, there's no way to even gauge what that advantage is.

For example, theoretically speaking if Act 7 contained nothing but whole catalysts (not saying that will happen, just speculating) then those fragments will *not* provide any advantage towards getting the first R4. They would likely be an advantage to getting the second, or the third, as more fragments become available. It doesn't have to be whole cats either: they can give away chunks of them for which having those fragments aren't enough to get there first.

The point is, we know what they are giving up in opportunity cost to pick up those fragments. We have no idea what advantage they are buying in reality, nor when that advantage will actually arrive. But whatever that advantage is, the one thing we do know is that it will depreciate rapidly.

it is difficult to think of a better thing to sell to such people, that they would actually want to buy. Keep in mind: if they are buying those fragments, look at what they are passing up in the Spring Cleaning store to get it. You'd have to give them *even more* than anything else the Spring Cleaning store contains to entice them as much as those fragments do, for the people who choose to buy it.

Yeah, it sucks that spenders might get there first, or have some other advantage past that point. In a perfect world spenders would only get what everyone else can also get. But the only way to arrive at that perfect world would be for all the spenders to be idiots, and we don't live in that world.

There isn't any content except Abyss maybe that would pose any serious challenge to r3 6*s, and they start slowly moving towards r4 already? Just like y'all have said, this is way too early. It disgusts me to be cut off from rewards that are yet again behind a paywall.
