So the new arena is now online. How does the community feel about this? Is this a step forward from the previous version or its the opposite? Your views in comments pls.

Personally i am shocked to see no four star arena. Mid level intermediate players like us are totally screwed. This arena is for the ones who has a huge collection of six star champs at their disposal. There are so many people like me who does arena for units. I feel like we have been totally left out. By no means this arena is fair. Another reason to leave this game.

11 FIGHTS IN, DEATH MATCH (for me anyway on Hard difficulty and like twice my Champs) but somehow I'm supposed to maintain a winning streak and have to score over 6 million points for a new 3* feature Champion when I used to only need 640,000????

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE, ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE...

I haven't missed getting a new featured 3* Champion EVERY week (even when it took around 1.4-1.5M to get a 3*) since July 2019

That is clearly over if these changes aren't reversed or FIXED because right now, the Arena is HOT GARBAGE

I'll NEVER spend another penny on this game and I might end up quitting over this... NOT kidding

Pure garbage.
Way too high milestone, and it punishes those who can't spend 24/7 in Arena/doesn't have 30+ 6*s.
This only benefits whales or massively developed accounts.

The funny thing is that I am sure kabaam knew this would be a **** shoot. Else they would have given us the milestone reward info a few days ago, like they do any other new content ect.

I’m like the new arena my rosters is also large so but definitely don’t like it for them with almost zero 5 and 6 star

I have been playing for 4 years, built my teams around arena, even at 4 years I can’t even get close to my old milestones. I was getting a 1000 units a week grinding. Now you want me to grind twice as long for the same units. Not happening, I rather use my units and battleships now complete what I can, and quit.

Since Kabam Boo asked for feedback in this thread, I’m reposting what I put elsewhere:

Featured 3* used to be 640K points. I could rattle that off with my preferred roster of 3* in less than 2 hours.

Now I have to grind 6.5MM points to get that same Featured 3*? Even with 6*s (of which I only have 3) and 5*s, I’m looking at probably six hours of grinding. I have a life; wife, two teen daughters, full-time professional job, elderly parents, etc. I don’t remotely have the time or energy to put in that kind of time.

On the Basic, sure it’s lower milestones, but removing the PHC shards means I’ll dupe fewer champs, yielding less ISO, making progression far harder than it was before.

My alliance is losing its collective mind over this. We’re all on newer or second accounts, most of us are a little older, and these changes screw us all over big time.

This change benefits the veteran players under the guise of “QOL”, but it cuts out a wide group of us mid-level players who may have just gotten Uncollected or aren’t able to play in every free moment of the day.

They just doubled my arena grinding time
Just so 100 grinders can get a 6 star
I have a big and deep roster, been playing for 4 years but without spending a huge amount of units, I can’t even get close to the top 100.

Now to get 200 units... get 16M score.

In the plans for the future they said they wanted to bring the game up to 2021 standards. With this change to arena, this amount of extra grinding (taking into account most people do not have a lot of 6* champs which are needed). This actually reverts to game to 2000-2010 era games. Very grindy, and paying players (with a lot of 6 star champs) will grow grow grow with the 1k+ 6* shards from both arenas. While the ftp people will crawl forward. Since we can`t even grind the units to do content properly anymore.

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room, since you brought it up.

The primary thing that Kabam monetizes is units. If they reduce the amount of free units that can be earned in the arenas (either from milestones or through battle chips), it will force players who need energy refills, revives, etc., to have to spend REAL WORLD MONEY on the game.

Hence, why the arenas were slanted to favor the whales and people who already are spending cash on the game. Keep those folks fed, fat, and happy while systematically squeezing the FTP players to the point they have to spend cash or risk not progressing.

I mean this six star arena can run as usual. Those who has the time and resource. They can grind. But please give us the four star and five star arena back. And do that asap. Otherwise people like me will have no other option but to quit.

The units flow is just a lot worse imo, especially if you don't want to spend a lot of time on these arenas.
Also my 6* roster is ok, maybe mediocre even, but I already have all champs I like and own ranked up. I can use others r1 to do arena, but it's boring and not enjoyable (dpxf and other useless guys). In 3* arena I could use any new champs to see how good they are. A great place to play with champs you like but don't own as 5* or 6*. New arenas take away that as well

I'm not a whale but I spend REAL $$$ monthly, so does my enjoyment playing the game, which is rapidly dissipating, or my non-whale money, not matter???

As a ftp player, if I stop getting units from the game itself, I'll more likely quit the game, then start spending. I feel more like spending when I feel game devs care about me despite how much I spend. When I see something like GFY (I obviously mean "gifts for you", shame that thread was deleted), I don't feel like giving any money to people who GFY me.
I don't even get a lot from arena, most of the time I'm just lazy to do it. But perception of things like that is a big deal imo

It's funny to look at the results of the poll because I would guess the forums are more stacked with thronebreakers and those with more 6 stars than the regular MCOC population and it is still in the single digits for those who like the change. Just an observation at just how bad the majority think this change was.

Rename the game to Marvel Contest of Whales.
Make it more accurate.

I have two 6* and maybe a few dozen 5*. After 4 years, I'm still not uncollected and don't really care if I ever reach that. My focus has been on events and arenas. Not time intensive. Get the 4* basic arena champ if it's a new one for me, or an awakening dupe. AQ and AW are major time kills. Now grind heavy arenas just got bumped up to super grind heavy.

Very little content left to keep my interest.
