Announcing: The Champions of Valhalla Event

Summoners!

The Grandmaster has set up a new tournament in The Battlerealm, to find the most worthy among all of his Summoners! In doing so, he’s bringing a lot of new things to the contest that you’ll want to know about!

The Champions of Valhalla Event begins November 1st! This event is full of new and exciting events, and details, including a new Leaderboard, a new type of Solo Event and a whole new feature called Bounty Missions!

But first, let’s dig into the biggest part of the event, a new temporary currency called Valor!

Win Valor to prove your Worth!

Valor is a new limited-time currency you can earn throughout the Champions of Valhalla event. It can be earned in four main areas:
The “Gods of the Arena” Event Quest (The November Event Quest)
- November 4-Star Featured Hero Arenas
- New Vanquishing Blow Solo Events
- New Bounty Mission - Test of Valor

You can accumulate Valor, and then use it in the limited time Valor Store, where Summoners will be able to purchase items like 4-Star Hero Crystals, 5-Star Hero Crystal Shards, Tier 4 Class Catalyst Crystals, and Tier 2 Alpha Fragments! (See below for all the details!)

But Valor has an even more important role to play… Collect Valor to prove yourself as the true Champion of Valhalla!

Prove your Worth on the Valor Leaderboard!

In addition to being able to spend Valor in the Valor Store, it will also be cumulatively tracked on the Valor Leaderboard! Don’t worry, this is a cumulative total, so if tracks all of the Valor you have every received, so it doesn’t matter if you spend it!

Place yourself in the Top 10 Summoners on the Valor Leaderboard, and earn a 5-Star Thor (Ragnarok) after the event ends. The #1 Summoner will earn a bonus 5-Star Thor (Ragnarok)!

1st - 2x 5-Star Thor (Ragnarok)
2nd-10th - 1x 5-Star Thor (Ragnarok)
11 - 1,000 - 1x 4-Star Thor (Ragnarok)
1,001 - 10,000 - 1x 3-Star Thor (Ragnarok)
Top 10,000 (all) - "Champion of Valhalla" Rare Title

Prizes will be awarded within two weeks of the event ending - as we need to review winners.

Do note, Summoners, we will be keeping a close eye on Valor and the ways and means Summoners are earning it. Use of exploits or nefarious means to earn more Valor than is normally possible, or more than one Test of Valor every 6 hours will be looked on unfavorably by the Grandmaster. Possible actions include loss of Valor, removal from the Valor Leaderboard or worse. Let’s not go that route!

What is a Vanquishing Blow?

Vanquishing Blow Solo Events are a brand new event in the Contest that award points for finishing off your Opponent in a specific way! A Vanquishing Blow is the final type of damage dealt that reduces your opponent to zero health.

For example, there may be an event for “Medium Hit”, where the killing blow must be a Medium Attack. There could be an event for “Special 2”, where the killing blow must be from a Special 2 attack. There could also be one for “Using Bleed”, where the opponent KO must come from Bleed damage. This doesn’t mean hit them while they’re bleeding, it means that the bleed must be the one to do it.

Vanquishing Blow Solo Events will be available November 1st, 5PM PDT until December 5th, 4PM PST. As with all 24 hour Solo Events there is a short downtime between each event - so check your Solo Events list to check out all the details!

Bounty Missions and Tests of Valor!

Bounty Missions are brand new feature that you may see come back around the Contest in the future. It’s a pretty big feature, so we’re adding a new post about it right here!

Prepare yourself Summoners! The Champions of Valhalla event runs from November 1st until December 6th and you’ll need to be on the latest version of Marvel Contest of Champions to earn your Valor!

The players who are playing from 3 years shows their dedication mate and they are very well deserved to be on top
They are ones who day-in-day-out played this game and made there roster huge
I completed 2 years in mcoc and even if i don't join an alliance my roster is enough to clear any difficulties in the game.
So you should too devote some time and then reap good rewards

I would like to say I'm not trying to be flippant, but that would be a lie this time. If you feel like Kabam consistently rewards only the top players in the game and you've only been playing for about 6 months, how is it that you have any rewards at all?

Clearly, you are getting rewarded. You are playing and earning rewards. You are probably earning far more rewards today than you were five months ago when you were only playing for a month. Why is that? Who are you, a six month veteran, to be earning more rewards than a player that has been playing for a month? That's how progressional games work. You earn more today than you did when you first started. The guy that started a year ago is earning more than you. In a year, you will be earning more than someone that started today, having a six month jump on him.

Your roster will keep getting better assuming you keep playing. You are getting 3* champions from the login calendar, which didn't exist when I first started playing. If you want a 3* Thor Ragnarok the 3* featured champ is available for relatively little grinding, and players with massive rosters are not at a major advantage over newer players because you can only use 3* and lower champs in that arena anyway. And each one you earn will make the next one easier to get.

A sizeable number of the 4* champions I have I got through the basic arena. Sure, the absolute top best champs take more points, but the repeats and the lower desired champs take a lot less time, and for a newer player there's no such thing as a bad 4* champion. It is my roster of 4* champions that I use to get more 4* champions and make it easier to eventually get higher scoring 4* champions. Heck, even 4* champions I never use are worth something, because getting them easy in the arena means the next time I pull them from a crystal I'm already duping that champ and earning 5* shards.

If you are in it for the long haul, everything you can earn becomes the fuel to make it easier to get the next thing. It does take time, but newer players have it so much easier than veteran players had it.

And you are not in competition with the top players. I'm not in competition with the top players. If I'm competing with anyone, it is other players like me. But you shouldn't even think like that. You are competing with the game. You are trying to complete missions for rewards, reach milestones for rewards, achieve goals for rewards. You are competing against those reward thresholds. And you will be able to reach some, but not others. You should measure progress by reaching new thresholds you couldn't reach before. I remember the first time I won a basic champ, the first time I was able to complete master mode, the first time I was able to complete one of the special events.

The game doesn't "cater" to veteran players. The game has content at all levels, each with rewards commensurate to that level of difficulty. It "caters" to everyone. The higher difficulty rewards are themselves higher in value, which gives players something to reach for.

You can always say "yeah, but why can't I at least have *that*?" And if you are constantly asking that question, this game will cause you all sorts of pain. As will all other progression based games out there.

What's the actual quest, not the valhalla or whatever it is, the quest, beginner, normal, heroic, and master, like what is it called and what title do we get for completing it 100%??

P. S. I don't mean this to be "spam" but i can't find it anywhere in the forum, and the valhalla post mentions nothing about the actual quest!

Why mygame need to download when each time i open it.every time need to download for 500mb...i losing my internet so much becouse of it...please fix it..thnx

I have an alternate account, and I am amazed that I have a 5/50 duped 4 star already and I am only lvl37. This account is only 2 months old. Anyone who complains is just crazy. The players getting jobbed day in and day out are the big whales. They overpaid for obsoleting resources. If anything with the amount of cash some have dropped on this game, why not just give them some special gifts, these are the players that make MCOC possible. And for all those out there who say, well if it wasn't for the other 90% (the free player base) who would you play with? The fact is this game is structured in tiers so most of the low level guys never even interact with the ultra high level players. Hell Kabam gave away a damn near a whole 5 star a few months back, on the monthly calendar, be happy

Clear your cache of mcoc or do uninstall the game or format your phone then redownload

It sounds amazing,There is still a lot of issues going on with my game but i'll adress them in apropparate section.how now...about Valor...it is anamazing idea imo.at first i got a big confused and didnt feel right about you guys arent bringing the store in the next version of the game...but then it make sence if the places were we can get the valor will ONLY run untill the next update and with the correct price list we will know what we need and how much valor we all need ...so i dont see any problems people complaining on "oh...i updated the game and cant spend my valor now" and try to blame the Kabaam for it:)

Ok. Also wondering if the valor count in heroic is a visual bug. It says 150k for completion and nothing for exploration.

I earned 150,000 Points for 1st completion of Heroic. But I did not open a test of Valor event. How many points does an individual need to earn, at one time, to open a test of valor event?

Test of Valor Event: A friend of mine who is in another alliance just opened a Test of Valor Event for accomplishing the same thing I did. They earned 150,000 Points for their 1st completion of Heroic. Why did the Test of Valor Event not open for me but it did for him?

That's for a Test of Valor. A Test of Valor only has 4 steps in it for a total of 16 Energy. There is no point AT ALL to doing more than one run of a Test of Valor.

There is no guarantee that any amount of Valor will DEFINITELY open a Test of Valor. It is always a chance, but that chance is greater with a greater amount of Valor earned.

It's not working for our alliance even though the pop up tells us it's on. There is no test of valor quest in my event quest section.
