Why not keep AQ free forever?

These last 4 weeks have shown that AQ doesn't need an entry cost at all. To be honest, it never made sense to charge people an entry cost to play one of the two biggest modes in the game (AQ & AW). I think it's just a simple quality of life change that would make all players happy. Thoughts?

It’s not free for all already?

Do you realize the whales that give this game over 50% of the profit have endless gold and don't even need to worry about paying to enter AQ?

Not many people actually buy tickets, they are mainly just a mild inconvenience that can screw over people that don’t want to grind arena
What data do you have to back that up?

I’d assume the evidence is that the majority of people don’t run map 6/7, but it’s a pretty useless argument for tickets existing, they’re still an annoyance for those that do have to purchase them, and are still unnecessary

How can someone disagree with this? Is there someone that genuinely wants to pay for AQ? I'd love to know why.

These trolls disagree with everything lol.. please don’t let that bother you..

Excellent post! I support your logic on this one. Lets just get rid of the AQ map costs.

I have a better one .. why not just delete AQ? I don't know anyone who likes to do AQ ... extremely boring chore ... people love the rewards though but I haven't seen anyone say "oh AQ is starting, I love to do some fights in there"

i am never excited for aq to come along. i dread it.

This is one of those posts that should never happen lol. I'm sure they know about it but why poke the bear? I run map 7 entirely with gold and I am enjoying not burning gold. This is why we can't have nice things.

Yeah I’ve never understood the purpose of an entry cost for it

AQ costs serve two design purposes at the moment, both related to the much higher rewards contained in the highest maps. The first is as a soft gate to those higher rewards: players must be active in other parts of the game to earn the ability to run those high reward maps continuously. You can't just do AQ over and over. The second is as a way to help balance the risk/reward associated with running the highest maps. You never want to get into a situation where failing Map 7 is better than succeeding at Map 5, say. You want downward pressure on alliances to only do maps they believe they can consistently beat, rather than just going as high as possible and failing half the time but still coming out better. The entrance costs help deter alliances from pursuing maps significantly higher than they can reasonably do.

This has not always been the thinking: they've revised their AQ cost thinking in the past. But this is what I believe it is at the moment.
You could make a case for the opposite. Alliances get comfortable with a map and don't push higher. Running a map you can't currently clear could make players adapt to harder content and get better at the game.

Well looking at it from a player perspective, surely the reason you get better rewards from map 7 compared to map 5 is because the difficulty is higher? Surely thats why you get the better rewards not because you paid a little to get in there. And to your second point, if they dont want players being rewarded more for failing at map 7 rather than completing map 5 change the rewards you would get for failing at map 7? AQ costs are not huge but they are an annoyance for players. The truth be told its a small revenue stream in the game lets be honest. Hence the reason they changed the system in the first place so KABAM made the money instead of the people in the community that were making money selling the resources to run aq. Lets just be honest about the situation
