How defenders diversity works in AW?

In 1 bg you have 10 people place their 5 champs. All different champs is 50. 2 people place let's say thing then you get 49. The amount of dupes lower your total.

3 and 2 bg work the same but those bg don't interact with the others so 50 unique in bg1 can be the same 50 in bg2 and bg3.

The BGs individual diversity won't effect each other. Each BG is a contained diversity check.

To amplify a bit, as far as I'm aware in war every battle group is scored completely independently and the scores are combined. This includes defender diversity, where every unique defender within the group scores points, but it actually includes all scoring opportunities. BG1 is scored as if the other two groups did not exist, and so are BG2 and BG3.

So the answer to the question "if I place Mordo in BG1 and someone else places Mordo in BG2 do I still get the diversity poinnts" is actually something close to "what's BG2?" For the purpose of calculating your score in BG1, there are no other groups, period.

Your overall score is the sum of the three groups, after they have been calculated independently as if the other two did not exist in any way, plus the victory bonus if you win.
