Question about "3rd party" ToS... what about the google app store for windows in 2022?

Next year Google is expanding the google play store to windows... IE MCOC will be downloadable on windows for the first time (legally lol).... will this be a ToS violation? This feels like something that needs clarification.

So even if the Google playstore goes to windows, it doesn't mean that all apps and games will be available. If the store does have mcoc then as far as I know it would make it a supported device and not 3rd party

Why would anybody wanna play Mcoc on their computer? Seems like more of a hassle if anything. So used to playing on thr phone

In theory there should be fewer frame rate issues and stuttering due to the better hardware available on PCs. Controls may be easier or harder depending on how it’s implemented on Google’s end.

Honestly though I still have a feeling that this won’t be allowed by Kabam though.

It would probably still be excluded due to some type of “Device or OS Requirement” setting, such as how you can’t download MCOC onto too old of a version of iOS (and I assume Android too) because the PlayStore knows that your OS needs to be at a certain level in order to download it.
(not talking about whether it would run smoothly or not, there is a requirement level as well)

- Last year I lost my phone and had to leave the game for a few months
- I've played games like COD on emulator and the bigger screen is a much better experience.
- Using keyboard might actually help you dex and parry better due to the faster response (Pressing a button is faster than swiping) I might finally learn to Quake.

I'm not sure how the other controls will work but these are the things I could think off.

Because there are certain games that are designed solely for the purpose of touch screens like phones. A game like mcoc would just not translate well to a keyboard and mouse.

Imagine having to click on the right side of the screen to attack and click on the left side to block 🤣 would suck to have a large monitor

You misunderstood me or I didn't explain better, how do you propose to take a two handed touch screen fighting game where you HAVE to use both hands and translate that to a keyboard? You cant.

Keypads. Fighting games have always existed on pc

Yep there are many different input types that can be used on PC. Controllers are natively supported for one (and as far as I’m aware some mobile controllers are compatible with MCOC as each button is designated an action such as left swipe right swipe etc.), keyboard and mouse, keypads (I use a gaming keypad myself for both MMOs and FPS games as the keys are more ergonomic for my hand).

But we won’t know for certain until it’s absolutely confirmed which won’t be until the Google Play store is officially on Windows.

You absolutely can. Using WASD and the Arrow keys. Many games use this style of input for Keyboard controls.

It's not really a 2-handed touch game. You don’t actually touch the screen with 2 fingers at the SAME time.

It's just that the location of the touches dictates the operation that is done (touches on left side vs right side of screen).
And that could easily be translated into 1 key for Block, 1 for Tap Light Hit, 1 for Swipe Back (evade), 1 for Swipe Forward (Medium hit), 1 for a Heavy.

Would actually make it much easier (aka, too much easier) than touchscreen because press-n-hold Heavy doesn’t need to be a long process. A single keyboard hit would accomplish a heavy.

As for “why would they not allow some games ?” That would be up to the developers (Kabam) itself to decide whether they set their game's requirements to allow it to be available via any other platform.

yea key presses for sure would be a large advantage over swiping and tapping.
