Special Daily Reward Missed Due to Yesterday's Maintenance

After returning home late from work last night, the game was down and was down until after I went to bed (5 hours later). Now I'm home from work again and see I've missed the special daily reward window and won't get the final 7 day 1000 5* shards. Why would you start a can't-miss-a-single-day reward cycle on a day where people have much less than 24 hours to collect it?

I had plenty of time to collect it. There’s 16 hours there to collect it after the maintenece

No, I work long days and my lunch was a working one. That still didn't answer the question about why they would start a reward cycle on a day where it's limited to collect it.

I find it unfathomable that you couldn't take 30 seconds to log in. How many personal phone calls/texts did you take in the 16 hours after maintenance? How many times did you check Facebook/Twitter/alliance chats? How many times was your phone in your hand while walking or driving?

Getting in your car starting your car logging into the game. That span of 1 min 45 seconds would have been perfect time to claim your rewards.

Yeah because you know when you are stopped and looking at a phone that will increase the chances of being rear ended by someone else. By your ideal looking down to change the radio station will cause someone to rear end you.

Actually, yes it does. The reason is that if a light turns green and you're not paying attention, you won't go. Meanwhile, the person behind you is paying attention to the light, assumes you go, and hits you. This isn't something I'm making up. Multiple studies prove this correlation.

1. That van happen at any time. However the person behind you didn't rear end you for being on your phone, he rear ended you for his failure to pay attention.

2. I never laughed at anything.

3. I am one of the safest drivers I know, my fiancé is as well. Our phones are shut off and in the glove box when we drive.

4. Looking back at 1 that accident is 100% the fault of the person behind you. If I stay stopped for any reason the person behind me legally can not move. Ergo sneezing, causing me to stay stopped would be illegal since the person behind me thought I should have moved and stepped on the gas.

5. This thread proves nothing of the sort, all it does is show you taking one comment vastly out of context and soap boxing it.

That is an assumption. But even on an iPad or tablet simply loading the game while doing anything and pressing 1 button is not a hard task. You can do this not even looking at the screen.

There have been many times I have been busy with shoots, while dressing undressing that I start a game load. Or between a scene I am shooting, while light adjustments are made, that I will collect rewards. Or while doing live streams for fans, I will move in AQ.

To say you don't have ~1 minute to collect rewards is ludicrous.

But defensive driving courses teach students that there are actions they can take to minimize the risk that a careless driver hits them. Avoiding distractions is one of them, and is a key reason for states cracking down on cell phone use even at lights.

Please, you could do so much better by simply saying "you're right...people shouldn't even consider logging in if they're behind the wheel," than the path you've chosen

I am not debating that. What I am debating is how fast a log in can be. For the OP to say he had no time to log in for the 16 hours from maintenance end to new day I showed how easy and fast it would be. Hell he could have logged in taking a shower or bathroom break.

What is the difference between grabbing a drink that takes about 30 seconds to grab and body contortions at a stop light vs looking down at a phone worse? It's the same. It's distracted driving. Just because one is more accepted because it doesn't involve a phone doesn't make it less distracting. And by your definition distracted driving is illegal.

Not once have I used "my" definition. I've referenced driving laws in multiple states. I'm also making no comments on accepted vs not accepted. I'm talking legal vs illegal, dangerous vs not dangerous.
