Kabam do something before it s too late

Dear Kabam,
When you will adjust the parry bug?
When you will do the adjustment to the masteries as you planned?
The people doesnt enjoy the game anymore and i don t want that this game will be closed as marvel realm of champions.
So please DO SOMETHING BEFORE IT S TOO LATE.

I still enjoy this game, even though the bugs and glitchs are annoying. But this game is not headed the same route MROC is, not for awhile anyways.

I know there are a lot of people adding two plus two and getting apple, but MROC and MCOC are in totally different situations. MROC had significant challenges right from the start that would make it very tricky to build to a successful game. Its content was thin, its monetization a bit heavy handed, it wasn't sufficiently beginner friendly, and it wasn't sufficiently engaging.

The lesson to learn from MROC is not that MCOC might be next, rather it is that MCOC gets a lot of things right that it doesn't get enough credit for; the only reason it is capable of surviving all the things currently wrong with it. It is extremely free to play friendly, it does an extremely good job of making spending completely optional, its progress curve is very moderate and reasonable, and it has a lot of content available for players to engage with.

For years people used to say that MCOC wasn't really a vey good game, it only succeeded because it was a Marvel game, and its identification with a very popular IP was the primary reason for its success. However, we've seen Marvel games come and go. Even with the Marvel name, and even with the institutional knowledge Kabam has in operating a successful game, it isn't easy to make a successful free to play mobile game. So many things must go right, and so few things are allowed to go wrong. This game did not make it to seven years by accident, because of luck, or because the Marvel name guarantees success. It got here because the things we complain about, while important to us, are peripheral problems. The core of the game, the way it works, the way it engages players, and the way it monetizes its content to support itself, all work well. They aren't perfect, but they are all extremely good systems. Because anything less, and you don't succeed.

That's the lesson of MROC. The name isn't enough. The IP isn't enough. Even being a decent game, which MROC was, is not enough. Everything has to work together, or the whole thing falls apart. I often wish the people who think they have dramatic overhaul ideas that are guaranteed to improve the game would reflect on that. There are lots of ways to improve MCOC. but MROC shows there are also lots of ways to wreck it, including ideas that seem very good on the surface.

I would say this game has made it this long, because it has been skill based until this point. With parry issues, it’s not very skill based anymore. And that’s leading to far less popularity with its players.

I never clicked Disagree, not my style, but l'll answer. It's still skill-based, and this game has had longevity like few others. Even amidst the issues, we're still here playing. I can't speak for others, but I have yet to see it completely unplayable.

I'd think not being able to parry would consist in needing more skill. You're having to no longer rely on parry and have to get timing better for interception and baiting specials

Simple. Biased analysis.

Is there a parry bug? Yeah.
Is it hindering everyone? No.
Is it hindering some people? Yes.
Did MRoC fail? Yeah.
Does that mean MCoC will fail? No.

Your biased because it affects you more than others. And you will lean to the side of bias. It’s natural.

You mention that because of the parry bug skill is out. It’s no longer a game of skill. I ask, how good are you at intercepting? Because THAT requires more skill than parry. You know the reason that parry is unlocked for free? Because it’s a BASIC ability. One that requires minimal skill. Like activating a special.

However intercepting requires a lot more skill. And I’d argue that for those who are experiencing the parry bug it has actually helped them become better players.

And attributing the failure of MRoC to this game is like comparing apples to kidney beans. They are 100% different. Just because it’s the same company doesn’t mean it’s the same. Look at big companies like Blizzard, Epic, Activision Riot, they shelve games all the time. They take games offline and chuck them in the trash. But their main IPs are still running strong.

Brush up on your intercepting, because if you only rely on parry, you’re missing a big part of the game.

“Relying” on a skill, and having a “reliable” skill are two different things. I can intercept just fine. And yes the parry bugs have made me better at it. But, More to the point, my comment was about consistency. With no consistency, skill based games can’t exist.

I agree with the not fr a while part, but can't agree that it's not headed the same way
One of the major downsides of MROC ws the gear system coupled with uninteresting gameplay
We'll soon have relics in MCOC which is just a fancier name fr gears system, & the gameplay part has been becoming increasingly uninteresting fr quite a while now considering all the performance issues, stale content specially the alliance ones, deliberate progression halts, complex node designs & too much reading....no-one plays games fr that much reading bcoz it's literally the opposite of fun & enjoyment except when u're reading a good book that u like
Other than that all the communication gaps, unresolved complaints & the mutual feeling of most players not feeling appreciated fr supporting the game over the years
All of that combined makes it look like it's definitely headed the same path even if not fr a while
The game will keep crawling for years after years & big spending events will keep the revenues & incomes afloat ensuring that it stays online
But staying online is not an assurance that players will be enjoying the overall experience

I like your argument overall but I disagree with you on this part. The parry bug hasn’t helped those of us experiencing them, well not all of us. Don’t forget it’s not only parry but also dex bug, so even attempt to evade and dodge gets punished. You can get clipped either way. Now with intercepting that you mentioned, I was pretty decent already now I’m bad now because the AI is now smarter and inconsistent. They do all kinds of intercept now. It’s tough to get a read nowadays, so I only perform less risky and safe intercepts. As such I try to do double parry (this I’d understand some have gotten better) and single parry on days my iPad get blessings from Kabam gods. I’d very like the controls issue to be fixed, so I can fight the way I want to. Also will be happy if we get any form of communication from the team besides silence about the AI leveling up.

The mastery system is what I don’t get at all. One spends that much lot units unlocking them and that’s not enough. Whenever you wanna make adjustments, you still have to pay to do it. When you make an error and put more points than you’re supposed to in one area, you have to start over and spend some units. When you want to explore the mechanics and interactions of a some champs by seeing how certain masteries help them, you gotta pay. Any adjustments you do with it comes at a cost. Some may view units spent on mastery change as small but it adds up. Even if they wanna limit how we mess up with it, ant we get some form saved setups that we can switch to at no cost to us rather paying anytime you wanna make adjust.

I started player this game a year and half ago and it was great until the control issue got bugged and it’s only gotten worse with each up date. I’ve played the game on newer androids, semi new iPhones and even bought a brand new iPhone 13 pro thinking that would help but nope. They should do something soon before a lot of their bread and butter decide to walk away. I know I’m getting close. I was spending close to a 1000 a month on this game. Now I’m down to 0 because of the bug and lack of communication.
I read some good points and meh points on the subject but the truth of the matter is the game is not what it was a year ago. If we stuck together as one big team kabam would have no choice but to fix the game. But their are those people out that have it stuck in their head that kabam can do no wrong.

Intercepting and parrying doesn't take skill, it's one of the basic foundations you learn when first starting the game.

Now, variations of it is different. Reparrying and light intercepts takes more than just being braindead. Heavy intercepts fall into this category too.

Hey guys, we already posted an announcement HERE about the Parry issue. There's also an active discussion about it HERE.

We're constantly working on ways to improve The Contest and keep it interesting for all Summoners. Although some of the improvements we plan to implement are detailed in the announcement linked above, it's only a very small part of the work we're carrying out to make the game perform better.

I just wanted to provide some reassurance that we have no plans to close the game down now or at any point in the foreseeable future.

I understand it can be frustrating when performance issues arise and they seem to go unresolved for a long time. I also realize many, if not all, play this game as a way to get away from the stresses of their everyday lives and that performance issues can add to that stress. Rest assured, we completely understand your frustration are doing everything we can on our end to resolve any reported issues.
