Wow, quite perplexed by the reaction here.

I understand that everybody has different opinions on Act 6, and that most of us tackled it when it was first available years ago. But those players that hit it right away also had several years to build their skills, masteries, and Rosters. The fact of the matter is that we have tons of new players entering the Contest daily, and many of them are getting stuck in Act 6, and we want to change that.

Act 6 may have been intended to be difficult when it was released, but as you all know, we took a very different turn in how we approach Act content after Act 6, as evidenced by Act 7 and the Act 8.1 Beta. Most of you will agree that Act 6 was more difficult than Act 7, and many of you (myself included) have explored much more of Act 7 than we have of Act 6.

On the topic of Difficult content, this should no longer be part of that equation. There is other content to satisfy that itch, whether that's Abyss, Carina's Challenges, Eternity of Pain, or other unannounced content that we're working on. Nobody (well, maybe a few people) is going back to Act 6 to complete more paths because they want difficult content.

We made these changes for all of those that are stuck on Act 6 right now, and those that will face it in the future. If you are unsatisfied with the direction or supply of other content, that is no reason to take it out on player-friendly changes that will make this game more accessible to more players.

And while the content will be easier now, it doesn't mean it will be easy for those that are getting to Act 6 now, just less seemingly impossible.

Act 6 was the last time this game felt truly challenging in a good way. If I played well, I could clear a lane without revives, if I didn't, I was punished for it. Even todays challenging content doesn't do this. Summer of pain and eternity of pain do not have failure costs associated with them. I had tried about a dozen times vs Crossbones before I was able to get the one shot. Those 11 failures mean nothing because it's an easy restart and try again. The last content I ever felt even close to rivaled Act 6 would be the Grandmasters gauntlet.

Some may say it doesn't matter, nerfing act 6 is what is best for the game, and that's almost certainly true, but is irrelevant to me. The game didn't meet my needs, so I quit for a while, and only returned to play in a different style. Having even the nerfed act 6 was something I was looking forward to exploring, but the energy costs and number of paths pushed me towards Act 7 exploration first. I am very disappointed I won't get the chance to challenge the mountain in its current form with my new account.
Arbitrarily putting 14 fights on a path and calling it a “challenge” is a lie. It’s a slog.
It's weird to tell people they can't enjoy things because you don't understand it.
It’s not. There are plenty of ways to artificially inflate the difficulty of content and no meaningful ways to go the other direction. You can craft your own Carina-style nonsense using your creative thinking powers and show off to the community. MSD has done exceptional videos with 2-star champs.

So you can go complete nerfed act 6 with a team of r1 5-stars and feel good about yourself, and those of us who didn’t enjoy act 6 and never revisited it will now consider trying it again.

It's not weird to tell people what they can and cannot enjoy? Do you go to a party and tell everyone drinking beer they shouldn't because you don't like it, and if they really liked beer they could craft it themselves from scratch?

You can call act 6 whatever you want but to say the difficulty is artificial is downright false. It has some of the most obscure fight designs meant to challenge your skills and require top notch gameplay.

Soloing an all or nothing nebula with 90% crit resistance, stun reflection and 100% energize with magik.is still one of my personal highest satisfaction fights .
You may have misunderstood. I think they are asking to use 5* r1 champs to artificially inflate the difficulty in a nerfed act 6 if anyone desires to set challenges for themselves.

I like the changes with the exception of the champion nerf. He’s a great boss and I dont think he should be touched to be made easier. Gates and energy though gets a thumbs up from me

    @Kabam Miike

It is a bittersweet change. It was hard content at the time to do exploration, still is. For new accounts can be a wall in the progression, and some of us experience that back in the day. However nowadays there's so many more options as champs to use and so on. Even thought it was hard content due to whatever circumstances you had, chances are it made you a better player and more immersed in the game.

The energy reduction is certainly a great move. I see people wanting some compensation, which may be a good debate. Overall the rewards back in the day was way more meaningful than completing or exploring now. So I can see people make arguments one way or another.

Talking about the title "Breaker of Thrones". It seems to me if a player do full exploration after the changes, the title should no longer be available. It is cosmetic, an achievement if you will. On the other hand newer accounts got to move on. Everyone can be satisfied with something.

It's possible that someone else here already mentioned that... well if that is the case I second it.

We've seen some questions regarding how the addition of Choice Nodes will affect some of Carina's Challenges that take place in Act 6. In order for particular Carina's Challenge Objectives to remain a challenge, they will need to be completed without using a Choice Node to swap out team members. In order to ensure that these Objectives track this properly and are clear in their instructions, we will be temporarily disabling some of Carina's Challenge Objectives on June 6, with the 35.1 Update. We will take some time to make sure they are adjusted properly and want to have them reenabled as soon as possible, but also want to give everyone as much notice as possible, in case they wanted to get them completed before then.

You can find more details on which specifics Objectives will be affected here.

As for the first nerf of Act 6, can we supposed some compensation to come for those that 100% explored it before the June 2022 nerf ?

What about those who did those Carina challenges in Act 6 before those changes ? will they get a compensation ?

Those act 6 challenges aren't even hard. You should just allow them to do it with the changes.

One of the only ways to get Paragon before July 4th is these challenges. May want to readjust if you guys want people to way out.

I am happy with the changes but why change champion boss I had an easy time with him. He is a pure skill based fight and he was my favorite boss in 6.2.

The Objective is only being temporarily disabled, starting in the 35.1 update. We will work to get it back up as soon as possible afterward, though this will still require going through normal testing processes first.

Can I have an answer to whether this will affect progress or not if you have not yet completed act 6? I wouldnt have even thought about it but have seen others say it will likely reset progress so really need to know for sure whether it does or not so I know whether I need to rush finish it

Also in game mail should be sent about this. I wouldnt have even known about it if I hadnt seen it being mentioned on global

It needs to be all of them. I had to finish it twice because I didn't bring all 3 the first time.

This is pretty disappointing to see, Since I 100% Act 6 prior to the first nerf this is making it significantly easier for players to get Thronebreaker whilst over the past 2 years It has been a challenge for those otherwise.

This change seems unnecessary as Act 6 and ThroneBreaker are supposed to be hard achievements to get and overall by change the difficulty greatly reduces the achievement...

I agree somewhat but some paths and bosses are just unfair for people at that level in the game, though I do think that the Champion didn't need another nerf

Best pro-player change yet. I rarely compliment Kabam and had largely lost interest in Story Quests because of Act 6. I had decided to just play as a Cavalier as long as I could and then retire when the game advanced too far beyond me. I had no desire to deal with all of the nonsense in Act 6. This announcement has re-energized me and I am hopeful that after the changes go live I will be able to enjoy Story Quest content again and resume my progression in the game. Bravo, Kabam!

Since we don’t have guidance as to what temporary means, I’d humbly suggest doing all the updates then just leaving the choice node off those 6 levels until testing is done. Keeps the challenges live and the players still get 95% of what they expected.

Nobody needs any compensation. This is a necessary change…coming from someone who 100% act 6 a long time ago and couldn’t be affected any less on this change.

Act 6.2 shouldn’t be harder and more roster restricting than act 8

Huh? So because you happen to be now entitled to easier content those of us who completed it whilst it was actually significantly more challenging are to just sit whilst we grinded and burnt though half of the resources you will have to?
Act 6 should be harder than act 7 as Act 7 is the outcome of the difficulty of Act 6, It's more of a calm and easier piece of content to do after you finally got the highest title in the game being thronebreaker. Maybe if people stopped crying so much and just did the content they were offered we wouldn't be in such a standstill.
LMFAO so Act 1 should be the hardest in the game? Because every other chapter is the reward after grinding out those horrible challenges that Act1 proposes... Every other chapter is the reward for clearing such difficult content in the game, in fact they should be FREE based on how hard the previous one was.

That's how stupid your argument of "6 should be harder than 7" is.

Not getting an answer then. Im not relying on assumptions of what might or not happen. Are we supposed to just guess? Is it a surprise to log in and be back at the start of act 6? If that happens after asking several times then Im done with this

I like the upcoming changes as Act 6 was harder than it needed to be. But I have to question timing of the changes. Why now? Kabam wasn’t doing anything about Act 6. So I was slowly exploring Act 6 as resources became available. I put off 6.2 last (along with 6.4.6) as it is the most restrictive content and the Champion is not an easy boss. I spent quite a bit of resources to explore 6.2 just THIS YEAR, and only have 6.4.6 to explore. While I’m happy for others who haven’t done Act 6, I’m upset that the changes are now implemented when many voiced issues about Act 6 for a long time.
