    Creating your own alliance with all alt account will give you as many MVP as you want.

    War MVP is a good metric for lower level alliances who are generally just trying to find committed participants. However, it loses a lot of it's meaning as you rise in the game. If you place a defense with Double Edge and Liquid Courage, you get a huge boost to your odds of getting an MVP when in reality you have just placed an objectively worse defense. Speaking from plenty of experience lol.

    I wouldn't be surprised if they ever introduce a leaderboard for it, since everything seems to have one today

    To echo what others have said, the way MVP is measured right now is bogus. Someone can go in and die a dozen times, but if they rack up 11 kills, they'll probably get the MVP. That's not deserving of an MVP. Needs to factor in deaths given as well.
