Removal of Revive Farming and the Apothecary Discussion

With your logic, why even make a stand or try to voice your concern, it won't matter because whatever deals are coming up are gonna be so great that you cannot resist buying them
I'd like to know what percentage of the playerbase, that is TB+, has explored/beaten the EoP quest and gauntlet. If it is more than 40%, then I understand kabams concerns with making endgame content. I remember the champion bossrush quest where less than 10% of the playerbase was able to explore it due to it being the first boss rush to have the mega-difficult chapter 2.
For Balancing purposes it is understandable that kabam wants to gate rewards and not let a huge chunk of players essentially get them for free. Kabam is also being nice enough to us by providing a way to still get revives. Between the apothecary (as it is written) and 22h solo quests, you can get 40 (44 with sigil) level 1 revives to do content. It'll slow your pace down for sure, but it honestly isn't the end of the world. For me it'll just mean that I'll probably have to put a bit of time in the arena to compensate my lack of extreme skillz when I want to do endgame content.
There is close to zero chance that after this change the same number of people will complete the content. Conversion from F2P to paying players is usually 2-5%, and the impacted player base is the one which was going to great lengths to finish the content without spending (farming is a choice and most players will not do it). Any decent analytics or market research would suggest that the conversion rates here will not be very high, let alone close to 100%.
Caveat; I have always revived and Heimdall'd through content. Collector, Ultron (medusa revives), Grandmaster (corvus revives) abyss (aegon), act 7 kangs (Ultron revives), gauntlet both at first release and subsequent (Aegon revives after reading @DNA3000 's comments on "can it be done with Aegon, Heimdall and 2k units, then proceed")
Aside from the recent act 7 kangs, this was always act 4 venom if I need extra revives. As I had 5/65 omega and full suicides very early in the game, so could auto fight as soon as it became a thing. For the kangs, I just saved up the 22hr solo lv1 revives.
I also took diablo to 5/65 sig 200 5* as soon as he got his buff and now have him sig200 R4 6* and I use him to auto farm ROL if I'm looking at difficult content..
It's only with EOP, that I started to farm 3.6.2 and I've absolutely rinsed it in the last month for Carina EOP.

The thing about the Carina's in retrospect, is I'd use a LOT less revives if only using lv 2 revives, particularly as I run suicides. But with limiting easy units in arena AND monthly EQ, even buying the monthly 4.99 unit pack, I'd need to spend a lot more active time in game, farming units, than auto fighting.
That's what I'm not happy about, the amount of time this game is now needing. Revive farming allows you to remain competitive, without having to spend 4-5 active hours in game a day.
Particularly since battlegrounds came out, which most of the time feels like a waste of my time, to me at least, with the +/- token system.
I am so unhappy playing battlegrounds, it's a demoralising game mode, even when you go on a win streak and get rewards. It continuously feels like dead time. I viscerally hate the +/- system. (Them adding emotes simply shows they are actively trying to monetize negative emotional responses from players; this is illegal in so many countries for advertising, particularly in gambling)
Just that sole aspect, makes BGs worse, to me, than AQ and AW combined. And it should be one of the best.
Grinding revives for EOP Carina made me feel like I'm achieving progress as a paragon, without having to play the BG game mode.
Otherwise, I may not have bothered with it.
In short though, I agree, the change will probably be ok, what with the addition of double lv2 reviews in TB MEQ appearing every 10-15 lanes, the 22hr events and the ability to get units in arena.
Just that I'd probably not be farming 3.6.2 to do EOP Carina, without battlegrounds being a thing.
Also, yes. I used the word entitlement. If something is included for Players in Act 3 and it's being milked, that's one thing. Players will do what Players do. They look for advantages. If those Players are on a soap box about it being taken away, that's entitlement. No one is meant to farm that many Revs in the game. That goes against the actual design of the game.
I agree the revive farm is excessive. But the alternative is really extreme and not viable either.
Act 1 guaranteed revive farm years ago for 7 energy or whatever and is magnitudes away from the 3.2.6 farm - let's be realistic here guy. No way near the same cost per revive in energy and time! Planets apart and not comparable.
You mentioned that when it becomes a problem it has to be changed - why has the 3.2.6 revive farm only now become a problem 18 months later? Didn't it become a problem in November 2021?
Dr. Zola
When Kabam has to adjust that because the number of Revs being farmed is beyond what is reasonable, then the reaction to that is on those Players.
The team chose to allow previous acts to be replayed instead of locking paths that had already been done. And they allowed items to spawn on all paths, not just new ones.
They knew full well 3.2.6 as well as other paths were spawning items. I find it laughable that there is a sudden outcry about “unreasonable” item farming in a game that openly allows item farming.
Dr. Zola
No one agrees with him,..ever,..and he constantly tries to piss people off and derail threads. Is this another hypocritical Kabam double standard??
…idk, i thought purposely trying to derail threads was against their TOS.

You were the one that implied I said the team doesn't know what's going on with their own game. Not me. Clearly they do. That's why they're making adjustments to a growing problem.
Which isn't all bad. It's opened a discussion about availability and content. That's good.
If you were to ask me if it's reasonable for Players to expect to farm hundreds of Revs from Act 3, I'd say that's entitlement. Which I have said.
The content wasn't designed for that, evident by their own comments and actions to change it. Pretty simple, really. If someone wants to convince themselves it was made for that because they "let it happen", that's pretty irreverent if you ask me.
That is more than suggestive that they are and have been aware of revive farming.
Save your reverence for Sundays.

It isn't necessarily sad that the developers want fewer people to complete content. If players clear content at a faster pace than it can be created, then that itself can lead to churn in the player base. There has to be some aspirational content for players to look forward and plan towards. It's a fine line to walk but it is required, maybe the balance has shifted a bit too much for now.
