**WE ARE NO LONGER Temporarily Reverting Tier 1 War Ban System**
After further discussion, the game team has made the decision not make adjustements to the ban system.
The previously proposed fix would have resolved the issue for Summoners who are on the cusp of T1/T2 play, and negatively impacted Alliances more securely in T1. Instead, we recommend that cusp Alliances switch to Manual Placement to your members to place the allotted 5 Ban Champions limit there.
Apologies for the back and forth, and for any confusion.

While I agree it takes time, that's nowhere close to what it'll take to hit 400k in BGs per member.
And if an alliance decides to enforce this, you think members will do it, they will have to be pushed by , ding ding, the "officers".
It's a thankless job mostly, and this deviation/decision by kabam isn't making it any easier.
Im sure it was well intended but here’s what it feels like they said :
“Hey all, we have to take AW down for a week so you won’t be able to get those things you usually get for a week but instead you can spend 7+ extra hours playing this game mode (that, by the way, is having some stability issues right now) to get similar stuff and also your whole alliance will have to commit to make it happen so we’re asking for several hundred extra hours of BG play per alliance at a time when we are already flooded with forum posts about dropped matches….good luck!”
I get the “something is better than nothing, they could have done nothing” mindset but in this case what they did just seems out of touch.
Like others have said, it’s going to put alliance leaders that are pushing for the top in a tough spot. You either require everyone to play BG hard to hit the milestones which may mean forcing them to spend units on Elder Marks right before July 4 or you risk falling behind because your competition is getting stronger with a round of top tier rewards you missed.
This doesn’t even impact me, I just feel bad for the folks it does and the responses in this thread calling the complaints “entitlement” don’t seem to be seeing the same situation I’m seeing.
If they're letting conquerer-levs in, i can think of a lot of things they'd be better off doing in the game than bgs.
Cavs will still match with paragons of course, cause that's always a hoot.
To me, offering a replacement that takes 3-4 times the commitment from every member of an alliance is asking a lot.
And if you’re consistently able to win in 2 rounds, bravo. We should see you at the top of the leaderboard soon then…
People in different stages of life have different availability, plus so much play can cause burn out.
15 hours in only one mode over 28 days is more than usual. Add to it few hours of arena, EQ, AQ , we're probably looking at 40+ hours spent on the game.
The max milestone in solo BG event is 300k, why can't that be the limit for aw rewards too?
As the picture of "casual player" i spend 20-60 minutes total daily engaging. This breaks down to at best 30 minutes actively playing and the rest autoplay/autocomplete/ranking up/passive activity. The bgs i play are almost all autofights (translation: 3 losses) to gather minimum rewards. Every game mode i engage in i can map out Win X fights and get Y rewards. Since i can't map that out with BGs other than Play x times every 2 days and get Y rewards, i got better things to do with my time.
What you might ask? Well it ties in- since I'm an editor/color grader, i charge by the hour, since if i get trash footage from clients and it takes me X hours to fix it, I'm making sure it's worth my time. BGs for me is basically committing to a Price before knowing how much work will go into it. For those who have time to kill, it's great. However, with those on a time budget, it's laughable for kabam to equate the time and effort level of AW with the crapshoot of BG. Other than, of course, HEY PLAY BGS IT'S OUR PRIMARY REVENUE DRIVER.
The temporary change to BG Milestone rewards to include AW rewards cost players much more real life time and in-game resource to achieve compare to the normal AW season.
So I would say that the simple and effective answer to reduce to point required to achieve these AW rewards. An example is something like this.
I feel that this is a reasonable compromise, many players in G1 and P4 Alliance, does not achieve 300k points or reach Gladiators' Circuit.
I understand Kabam is trying to encourage more participation in BG, and I appreciate this one time transfer of AW reward into BG, however I do think it is a big asking ("force") for players to commit to 300k-400k of points.
If someone already not enjoying BG, "forcing" them to play that intently (so they don't missed out the AW rewards they normally get), would only lead to burnout. It doesn't do the player, the game and the community any good.
Reducing the required point for players to achieve AW rewards would be a win win for everyone, those that already played BG a lot, great more rewards, and those that don't play much, well they have to play a bit more, but not too excess that would make them hate the game mode (if they haven't already), burn out or feel they were neglected.
It really is as simple as just putting the rewards into the solo event and then it's almost completely in the hands of the individual rather than a collective effort of 30 people
* I want BG to be my own personal thing that I play by myself and get all the rewards I can reach regardless of how much effort the rest of my alliance puts in. It was said to be a solo competitive mode, after all.
Yes you're sort of right about if your ally wants the rewards they all will put up the points, they all put the effort into War every season which is like 10 mins of attack per War but that's only 1 match of BGs so they need to put it in WAY more effort. Not to mention not all members of all allies enjoy playing BGs so we (the officers) would need to try enforce it and what outcome do you think that will achieve?
but would you be getting top rewards in AW season? NO.
top rewards are far more than the majority of allies would have been getting.
have a look at what your ally rewards for a season would have been.
see where that stacks up on bgs and work out from there where you need to sit.
yes personally i feel i need 400k and i need my ally to get it and i feel they won't but, it is certainly not required.
