5* Rank 5 - Signature Ability

Hi!
I noticed that the signature ability for our opponents scale in strenght according to their rank and level. I'm wondering if the same will happen to our characters. I'm thinking about ranking Star Lord to 5 with the act 5 rewards and all, but will his signature be able to get as powerful as the LoL Star Lord's or not?
I've never paid attention to that while ranking my champs up, so that's why I'm asking.
