How was your account affected by the mythic crystal fix?

I’m curious to see what happened to other people’s accounts with this mythic crystal removal. For my account, I ended up keeping the 6*s I ranked up (around 4), 2 7*s (had 3 after exploit), and kept progress in the shooting stats quest which I had done most of.
For what I lost, Kabam took away all my other 6*s gained (ones I didn’t rank), all 5*s (or so many that I can’t tell I kept any), and all my 7* shards that I gained from shooting stars and the ones I already had that were completely legit. Overall, I can’t say that I’m very upset with this since exploiting wasn’t good anyway, but I do think this isn’t right to have taken all my legit 7* shards. I’m also confused about the 7*s I opened during the exploit. They removed 1, so why not the other 2? Now I’ve lost both discounted crystals in store and ~9k shards. Though Kabam did do some things I’m not completely fond of in this fix, I will say that it’s impressive how quickly and accurately they responded to this game-breaking situation.

That's the thing it wasn't for those who didn't touch them, those who also didn't touch them please click on "Agree" below

It's absurd, the common theme I'm seeing is that they've removed all or most of champions acquired from the crystal directly and all the shards from dupes, but people are keeping any 6*s and 7*s they opened already from the dupes and the like.

Not entirely sure if it's to be believed but the one guy I know that opened 500 of them kept the 2 7*s (3 7*s but one was a dupe)he opened from the shards.

The more I think about that, I am wondering if kabam really has the technical pre-condition to solve such exploits. I compare that with SAP - there are, reports and various standard transactions but this seems to be very special.

Somebody knows more about the technic itself?

A lot of iso was removed from my stash and i think all 6* I got from the exploit, none of the champions i got after the situation were removed and some of my champs got unawakened, overall yea it was a very good cleanup, too bad it lasted longer than 24 hours

I think it’s fine that people gained from a bug.
This is a billion dollar game.

    Figure your stuff out.

From what OP posted i assume that, they keep record of every item in account and log them daily or may be hourly for each account, If anything goes wrong they can simply pull up the old record and compare the difference. Little loop holes are seen here are sig stones and duped/unduped situation. I agree it's not necessary to keep track of minor things on daily basis. For financial transaction there are multiple log required and i believe kabam have the records for every minor detail possible. (Apart from financial transaction log, Above can be simply achieved by daily database backup but i believe there will/should be more than just backup).

    Pure Assumption

What they did was fair on everyone (me included).

I lost every champ I opened that day, who I didn't level up or upgrade. I lost all my current 7* shards. AND they took my Battlegrounds Alliance Rewards:/

Kabam did well handling the situation imo. My account was reverted almost perfectly back to its status the day before the mythic opening, and they even refunded a generic rank up gem I used on Iceman who I got from the mythics (extremely thankful for this). With such a large fix there's obviously gonna be small issues like certain 6 stars being taken away that you had before the exploit, so anyone whining that their are problems with their account clearly don't realize that you can't get away with everything.

Now with that being said, I am just looking for a clarification on the plat track situation. Even though there are 19 days left, I only have access to 10 more days of rewards, meaning I will not get the Morbius stamp. When I completed the objective that came in during the bug fix, I was not rewarded with the corresponding rewards. So, before I buy a couple of day boosters to be able to finish the event and get the stamp, I just want to confirm that doing so will actually push me forward in the track (as objectives currently do not do so).

Already had OS unawakened but after mythic crystal bug she was at sig 80 I added 1 additional sig and as you can see she's still awakened.

They removed the 6 stars and removed a 7 star hulk from my account, but I kept 2 7 stars , dupes on 6 stars , and gold

I am much more risk-averse than some, and would not have.

I didn't refrain from the exploit because I am risk averse. It's called ethics.

They may be your reason. Admittedly, I don’t have a strong sense of my ethical obligations inside of the game itself. I can see where we would simply approach it from a virtue perspective. But I think the waters are a little muddy. I’m not sure if we’re looking at violating some kind of obligation to kabam, some kind of obligation to other players, or just holistically to the game at large? Was it unethical to open all of those crystals and expect to keep the rewards? Yeah, probably. Is it super helpful at this point to do a bunch of virtue signaling about why I didn’t? Probably not. I think it is kabam’s obligation to make sure that people who opened those crystals don’t end up with more rewards than people that didn’t. But that’s not clear here. But they did make sure that people who didn’t use the rift bug were actually better rewarded. But unfortunately, that’s a pimple on the butt of these rewards, lol. So I will continue to not utilize these bugs and exploits, but I don’t want to assert that it’s simply out of virtue. At least in part as a reminder that there are those people that may open them next time if you have shifted the dynamic.

Kabaam, through their game, provided the means to open crystals that they now feel shouldn’t have been opened?
And you are now punishing players?

This is your game, you messed up. Fix it.

While I disagree with your takes on the mystic crystal issue, I commend you on the Lebowski quote...

This conversation reminds me of the Wal-Mart close to my place. They would have people walk in, steal T.V.s and other wares, and the staff wasn't allowed to stop them because of the potential to sue.
    Ultimately, they hired private security.
  • smdam38smdam38 Member Posts: 1,464 ★★★
    Private security would be amazing.

Instead, we get “this is just the way it is” folks.

I’m not going to read a dna novel or shill posters like demon (I probably will).

But, there is zero reason to limit an account to not let you sell unusable items.

Key word to start with is UNUSABLE.

Then we can go to unneeded.
