Never done any long form content, it's Necropolis worth targeting?

PantherusNZPantherusNZ Member Posts: 2,205 ★★★★★
I'm a relatively new paragon and haven't touched act 8 yet, never done LOL or AOL, but with all the hype about Necropolis, I'm whetting if it's worth targeting before Jan 15?
My main champs are R4 6* or R1 7*. I have Aegon and could burn an AG and 200 sig stone on him and rank him up if needed.
Is it with investing that much into, given I'm unfamiliar with the playstyle, or give it a miss like the rest?

With the rewards from completion Road to the Crypt, id personally say its worth it. Rank Aegon up and practice in the first fight of any lane. Watch some youtube too that'll help. Make sure u have enough resources too

same boat. paragon, haven't touched any long content aside from rol

But I started doing lol 10 days ago. 2 more paths of 7 for exploration. I thought it would be easy given the evolution of the characters, rarity and attributes over the years, but it's still challenging to me. global nodes are really simple, pretty much every character becomes stun immune after about 12-15 stuns, and have a random passive evade (they state 1% chance, but it's a a heck of alot more than that imo). and each inside character has a unique added attribute called 'enigmatic' (ie. daredevil opponents take degen while blocking or dr. strange power steal on blocked hits)

health pools are either 1.5 mil or 3.3 mil (inside characters)

this is the simplest, easiest long form content available, and with a roster of 19 r4's, 3 r5's and 19 seven stars, it's challenging to me

I can't even imagine the difference in difficulty (nodes, restrictions, hp, attk dmg), time, unit and potion investment in doing the hardest content available in necropolis

my personal plan is to do it in order. practice. get used to those long 15-20 minutes battles, like it's second nature. lol, then aol, then gauntlet, then eop, then necro. hoping to get there by summer. good luck to you comrade

Actually that is a good point.

OP, practice holding a combo in LOL for a few days if you're not used to Aegon, the high cost of losing a combo and get used to the cheesy playstyle (when it gets boring)

When you're comfortable go do Necro.

The rewards are top of the line on a completion pass for 90% of us.

    YEESS!
Ive also never done aol lol and never played aegon before necro run yesterday and my advice is Nike, just do it. here are my takeaways from the run:

    * I went aegon proxma doom juggs and heimdal, taking doom for airwalker was a mistake for me, i probably played it wrong but after dying twice with barley doing damage i switched to aegon and it was fast and easy took me another 4 revs

    * Ramped up aegon on tit and araku

    * Aegon took everyone on that path, also CB it was not nearly as bad as i thought with reverse controls at all , took me 5 revs

    * i advice you to all in on aegon, take nick fury instead of doom and kill him after youre 999, dont use boosts dont use offensive masteties at all before 999

    * buy the pots offers in store youll get a lot of revs, dont go in with less that 100 revs and keep units stashed in case things go sideways and needed to buy more revs
You can also rush the new event quest in few days snd get the tb and cav offers for more revs

    Good luck you got this

Absolutely worth doing if you have an aegon. Just get ramp him up and wail away. Just have unit man on your team too.

Necropolis first path was easier than doing Realm of Legends back in the day with only a 4* Starlord. I still have nightmares of getting to a combo over 700 vs Wolverine.

I didnt have a 4* starlord "back in the day"

    I used a 4* X23.

    And a 3* guilly.

@Gambl0r That’s interesting… What champ did you use? I also figured it would be easy to finally get that Labtron…

I never did long form content either. But Necro is absolutely worth doing. I'm farming revives for my last path. Used around 275 solo and 30 team revives in the first 5 paths. Kate Shuri and Aegon as main attackers. Never once brought an Aegon only team. He isn't fun.

Definitely do it! I'm similar in that I never touched LOL or AOL or GM Gauntlet. I used R4 Ascended Aegon, max sig. Went in with about 120 revives, L1 and L2. Used about 600 4hr crystals but mostly got health and energy and only a handful of revives. I powered through in about 4 hours total play time. I took breaks after every 3-4 fights. Ramp up was time consuming, I hit 999 on the third fight. The one thing I'm personally happy about is that I didn't need to use my units for extra revives.
As a note, GM isn't really bad. You can get him down to that 1% without always getting him Wounded, just keep chipping away.

Do it. It's the best time right now. I've been around a while, not a great player, but it's doable with Aegon. Fun too.

I'm even going to do 2nd path.

Yes make sure you get it done before the road to the crypt deadline. One thing I can’t stress enough is bring a champ that’s immune to reversed controls like Wiccan or Juggs for Grandmaster. I forgot to do that on my first run and it drove me insane. That’s not something you want to have to deal with, trust me.

But for the 3 left paths I planned everything out as well as I could with specific counters. Right side I said screw it and ranked up Ægon from R1 to R5 and ascended him and was able to do almost every fight with him. You just brute force through and you don’t have to do anything fancy. I don’t regret it.

I became paragon just to do Nacropolis, because the rewards were so good. Practice on titania until you get a 100 combo or better on Aegon. All those rewards for one single pass in the Nacropolis.

    Yes. Very worth it.

I heard that a recommendation for a first run of An Ægon Necro was to do the first Titania run with him *not* ascended so you can get more ramp up on the first fight and THEN Ascend him.

Since I’m only planning on doing a completion (and not exploration at this point), that certainly sounds smart and like something I wouldn’t have thought of.

But can anyone confirm that this is the case that will work, ascending a champ AFTER they’re already in this content will still reflect the change?

I can't confirm but have seen comments from a few players who did it, including here https://forums.playcontestofchampions.com/en/discussion/354991/this-is-another-necropolis-completion-thread-red-goblin-path-with-aegon.
However its completely uncessary, you're going to be ramped up after 2 fights anyhow.

I ascended Aegon after I got him ramped to 999. 1/2 way through the second fight after titania.
