  I too have them at r4 ascended.but I Will take cgr to r5 kingbin can be better defender here .but cgr is the best attacker . choose as ur wish

  Rank 4 on CGR is great. The damage and combat power rate holds up.
  
  Go with Kingpin imo. Only R5 CGR if you feel he needs the extra juice.

  Cgr for only big damage. If duped he gains some utility too.
  
  Kingpin has both damage and utility. He can survive well in fights with help of recovery mastery. So go with him

  Slayer, even as the poster child for the champ, do you feel for your average end-game player that R5/R5Asc. is overkill for CGR? Hulkling/Nick Fury for example, do you feel they’d be a better overall r5 ascension?

  Can't really speak to what other champs would be "better" to R5 and Ascend but in the current state of the game, yeah, I do think R5 and Ascension is overkill for a lot of scenarios with CGR. I would R4 and Ascend or R5 and not Ascend. I wouldn't do both until 7-Star R3 are a lot more common or maybe even 7-Star. That way it'll help CGR keep up lol.
