I actually did what Brian mentions he forgot to do: I max sigged as many champs as possible before opening champion crystals, to improve the odds of getting max sig crystals, to open more crystals.

At the moment, the sustained average crystal opening rate is between 1.5m and 2.0m crystals per hour. This is about three times higher than it normally is at this time of the day.

Basically, the Brian effect amounts to about an additional 280 crystals per second. This is not enough to reach one billion all by itself, but if this was the sustained opening rate from now to the end of the event, our estimated end score would increase from about 650 million to over 800 million.

Yeah, MCOC creators make money just like any other content creator. 150k+ subs gets you a pretty good paycheck

I’m definitely not saying they don’t deserve it with the work that goes into making and editing videos and being somewhat entertaining.

My kind of point is mostly wondering why companies put so much money into advertising.

It must work, but just from personal experience, I don’t think I have ever bought something from a YouTube ad. There must be a lot of people that do though.

Most of us ain't gonna buy via the affiliate links form yt ads, But they will put the brand in people's mind. Marketing is to create a branding so that everyone will remember your company. No one will buy your product if no one knows. Advertising helps to register your product in people's minds

Also editing videos is definitely very boring. But it pays more than a corporate job or small business so yeah, definitely worth it.
