No great R3 skill option… so who should I do?

So I think it’s nearly universally understood that the skill collection of 7 star champions is the worst in the game… so of course that’s what I pull for a 2-3 gem.

So, who should I use it on? I already have Chee’ilth on rank 3. So does it go to Shang? cat? mantis? Someone else?

I genuinely don’t know who I should take, since my options don’t seem that phenomenal.

    Shang was my first R3 (I also got the skill gem and it was him or moondragon). He's super easy to play with and has so much utility. Crappy defender, but can do almost everything else. I didn't know anything about him at the time but it turned out great in my favor.

    In my opinion, cheelith, shangchi and mantis are all great options. Maybe cheelith is controversial idk.

    shang is a great option. Conversely, CB is also awesome ( but you dont have him unfortunately). Elsa is also suuuper fun at r3.

    My r3 cat with no deep wounds masteries does ex red hulk, which is 1.5 million health in under a minute and a half. It was on average 23k damage per second I think

    And by the way, Mantis is a nuke, Elsa is a great option for all those pesky nodes that have unblockable or punish parries, and Jabari is actually a solid 2-way champ if you ignore all the hate she gets on this forum.

    They said Chee'ilth is already r3 though, and don't see any other "phenomenal" options. Although I see a few, one being Jabari Panther, they have their minds made up on the no champs being worthy of the gem. That's why I said just wait then lol.

    Idk,..i left my Shang at R2 and took Jabari up to R3,..he has zero defensive value and Jabari has some.
    I also have Chee’ilth at R3 and see her as on par with Jabari tbh.
    May eventually r3 my Shang Chi,..but i honestly don’t think he needs it to do what he does.

    Cheeilth, Shang Chi and Mantis are all excellent options. I went with Cheeilth for my first skill R3. I had Mantis too but I'm not the biggest fan of her playstyle
