So how exactly are you supposed to deal with Sentinel?

I’m not saying he’s impossible to beat or anything. I just faced him in Battlegrounds and he becomes an absolute tank at max analysis charges, so much so that I couldn’t finish the fight. I took a look at his kit and it didn’t seem like there were any obvious counters to what he does. Is the idea to just alternate basic attacks so he doesn’t gain analysis charges? I feel like the fight would still take a while if you did that though…also alternating special attacks would definitely increase the fight time as well unless your champ is geared for that

Bait sp1 and any energy damage dealer cheeses him. I even used sunspot in the last gc meta

    Mystics. Nullify/neutralize.

Shocks and incinerate or ruptures should do the trick

Ah, so the idea is to just use the DOT effects he isn’t immune to in order to bypass his armor and crit resistance? I guess that makes sense

He's immune to armor break but not armor shatter, so while Medusa's normal stuff won't work, her SP3 will because it inflicts Armor Shatter without relying on armor breaks like her SP1.

Wouldn’t that still make the fight take a while? Is Sentinel just guaranteed to stall out your fight timer?

This thread gives me a weird feeling of deja vu, I don't know why.

I'm sure there are other quicker options too, where you end him before he reaches below 20% health.
But as far as Medusa, working up to 3 bars of power and then finishing him in the 35 seconds during which he's armor shattered should take around 80 seconds total? Depending on respective ranks.

That's a great way to eat an SP3 from him: "Each time one of these Armor Up Buffs ends for any reason other than Pulverize or Sentinel’s personal abilities, Sentinel Passively gains 90% of a Bar of Power."
I don't think neutralize triggers this behavior. Nullify does, but many mystics also have access to power control. For example, Doom could nullify his armor breaks and then steal the power gained.

It's a dangerous game, because say Doom inflicts a stagger on Sentinel and then Sentinel drops below 20%. All 3 armor buffs will get nullified/staggered at the same time, meaning he immediately gets 90% of an SP3. In my experience, there's a very strong chance Sentinel will throw an SP3 at this point before Doom can power steal....

I haven't tried it yet, but deathless thanos is probably a great counter for sentinel.

    Easy, Ban him lol

In my opinion, he's not really on the level of the top tier defenders. His SP1 is easy to dex, and the rest is just his awakened ability once he gets below 20% health. I'd rather save my bans for others.

Agree he is a nastier defender. There are times during arena that Sentinal just power charged to and throws SP2. Is it dexable? Blocking will have incinerates which quickly melts if you are not incinerate immune

Use incinerate immune such as prowler & jack and put dot damage on him.

Actually that sounds like a job for my girl Spiral. Her rotation is all about alternating combos since performing the same attack twice grants him analysis.

I know I joked about him above, and I knew about the pulverize and anti-glancing abilities, but I reread his kit and had completely forgotten about his Grit Buff (not relevant to Sentinel but an ability I'd been trying to get access to easily). So given that I just pulled him from a Titan recently, I think I'll eat my words and dedicate some serious focus on learning how to use him with potential to possibly rank him up and awaken him.
