Ik im just saying at least starting in D4 would've been somewhat reasonable if there were the solo event still but now that it's gone it makes starting in D4 feel even worse.

Yeah Uru2 to D4 for me. It's rare that I even play enough to get out of GC with phone overheating issues and irl stuff. Starting at V2 was nice but without even a solo event, I'm not sure I can do the grind from D4 😔. And by can I mean want to enough to bother.

Dither for a few hours = try and find a solution. It wasn’t gonna be fixed because it was bugged from the start, the same reason they left everyone in V2 last season. Crashed stated that anything else would’ve had way more knock on effects

I do think there should have been additional comp for people starting in Diamond and that’s it

It’s a shame because the things you guys have done to rejuvenate BGs have been largely successful. Tons of participation last season and clearly everyone is chomping at the bit to get started in season 29.

But the problems with launching seasons / events are just endemic. It burns up a lot of the goodwill when every month is kicked off with a new faceplant.

Not trying to single you out, and I realize there are differing opinions on this. But this isn’t the first time a season start (of any kind) has been screwed up.

But screwing up a season of BGs on day one isn’t a small problem. Time zone differences put some players at a massive disadvantage, running up points on weak accounts suddenly thrust into top tiers allows some accounts to get a significant head start and small accounts who suddenly got an unwarranted promotion into the world of multiple R4’s have to wonder what’s happening. That doesn’t help build the excitement around BGs anymore than the “Big Thing” solo event that misfired built enthusiasm for the new AW map.

The solution? A smattering of marks (which matter little since there’s no solo event anymore) and some other stuff that many BG players have in spades. Sure, objectives have a longer time frame, but that’s just an acknowledgment of the additional time demands dumped on unlucky Summoners. It wasn’t fixed, it isn’t fixed, and it won’t be fixed.

Much like the saga switch three wars into AW season, this seems like there’s no recognition from the team as to what creates headaches large and small for players or what matters to them. It isn’t a stretch to say that it feels like they don’t even *get* their own game sometimes.

Is it the amount of stuff that you get to skip from basic Bronze up to where you *DID ACTUALLY* get put at ?
Or up to where you *SHOU,D HAVE* been put at ??

If the answer is that for Diamond people, they get the standard “after 5 matches” stuff based on all the way up to Vibranium (same as those who did start at Vibranium), then at least you would ALSO be able to get those rewards duplicated by getting them as you advance from Plat to Vibranium.

How is it fair for someone to get 2 weeks to reach gc from vib 4 to get the 10k compared to someone who has to climb through all the r4 monster decks to reach the same gc. Players who reached gc last season should get 10k radiance compensation and the first radiance solo obj should just be removed. This is massively unfair

This is just the bear minimum fix and I would be fine with it. It’s like the game team is just ignoring folks in vib 2 can accumulate GC points, get to their desired rank and park (cause we still aren’t decaying points) in the same amount of time the rest of us are struggling to get through VC. You have the 10k milestones, but you also have just the sheer time advantage to endure win and loss waves in GC OVER A WHOLE MONTH that the rest of us won’t get.

And the fix is… some trophy tokens for everyone? Nah… the comp should have been radiance. Instead, the game team essentially gave vib 2 players free radiance and huge time advantage to get to their desired rank for even more radiance. You can’t pump up this premium currency everyone is chasing, set it on competitive requirements… and then give a bunch of players a huge head start to get it. It’s just wrong… and beyond frustrating the game team is blind to it.

And the “relief package” unless I’m missing something goes out to everyone according to the Discord post from another thread—not just the disadvantaged players. Terrific solution…

It’s a resource management hassle as well as a time suck and competitive kneecapping.

So let me break down the comp so i can understand this right.

> Quicker Entry to GC
> Easier time to get both early objectives of radiance, their most valuable currency currently in game. (Enter GC and 100 points)

Btw, every match I played today (4 V2, 1 GC), my opponents barely had any R3s, much less any R4s.
I can't spend all day playing BG, but I bet some people are going to stack up points in GC like it's Xmas.

I placed in diamond 4 and only encountered people ful of r4 and r3… I only have 4R3 uru 6 last placement

If there was ever a “yeah, we don’t care about this” message - this compensation package is it. Vib 2 players get the equivalent of 2-3 T4A with their easy path to radiance minimum compared to us D4 losers….. and because Kabam needs to feel a little bad about it but don’t want to take the time parse out who got the advantage, they also get the trophy comp too.
