I find it rather fascinating how Kabam corrects their initial blunder with an even bigger blunder.

Following Kabam form I expect a 3rd blunder from them compensating those who didn’t get banned…

pretend you're eating at a fancy restaurant minding your own business and the owner falsely accuses you of something, calls the cops, and they come and handcuff you in front of everyone and throw you jail.

when the owner realizes his mistake and tries to make amends, he's not just compensating you for that dinner, he's going way above and beyond that like every sane owner would.

Did you really use getting arrested as an analogy for not being able to play a mobile game for 7 days? That’s absolutely asinine. The better analogy would be if the owner accused you of stealing and told you you’re not welcome back to his restaurant.

I don’t want to speak for others, but I think a majority of the pushback is due to the fact that kabam has never in their history been overly generous and this comp package takes overly generous to the next level; its so far out of the water it’s not even in the same ocean as others.

I am not a person who runs to the forum and asks for compensation for the game being broken but when the game has several issues for months (which kabam themselves has acknowledged) without so much as a single shard it makes you really question their compensation philosophy.

a business falsely accused a customer of something horrible and kicked them out. every sane business would go out of their way to make it right.

and they all got booted and lost war seasons rewards. if you're in gold 1 that's 30k radiance right there. plat 1 is 150k.

AND they missed raids. top 500 is another 20k radiance.

AND you can grind 2k units a week from the arena plus all the missing units from the daily super event and the monthly unit card.

do the math man, these guys got screwed.

Because there hasn't been false bans for three days before on this scale. Whenever there have been false bans, there was a very generous compensation given.

This is not similar to any other issue in game. Remember when nightmare raids was bugged and people were given the complete exploration rewards even if they wouldn't have been able to do it normally? Because that's how blanket compensation works.

It's not to make up for the lost days in gaming, but for the unfair punishment that was dealt out to innocent players that affects them in their credibility, mocked by other players etc.

I’mma keep it a buck with you, those issues wouldn’t warrant such a huge compensation either. The damage is very hard to quantify considering how it affects different players differently.

But at the very least, they affect all players, unlike this situation where certain players are relatively disadvantaged compared to their peers. I presume that’s why this is bigger than any game-wide compensation we’ve ever gotten.

Plus, the stigma that came with the ban wave also needed to be compensated for, as a show of goodwill.

I don’t really get what you mean by wanting explanations and accountability though. Is the explanation they gave on the ban wave not enough?

That restaurant owner would have a huge lawsuit on his hands, and being insanely apologetic and compensatory would be the only way to hope to avoid that.
Maybe there is a similar issue here? Kabam hoping that this absurd compensation package smooths over any hurt feelings that might lead to legal issues? I have no idea...

While I deal with a different area of the law than this, I do believe that a wrongful suspension affecting paying players can trigger consumer protection concerns, and that Kabam's TOS can't always override consumer protections in certain US states and EU countries.

1- the customer at the restaurant didn't work on his apetite for x ammount of years
2- the customer didn't go in a group of 30 and missed out on the benefits of a group

The only problem with this compensation package is not that everyone is getting too much. Is that its not progression based.
4500 units before 4th might seem a lot, they got the 1st tier of usual 3k for free, get over it.

This is a good analogy. Thank you for this. However, I do still think there’s one piece missing. The competitive aspect. Instead of dining, players/customers are competing. So it’s almost more like master chef the show. Imagine one of the contestants was wrongfully disqualified, they missed a challenge for an opportunity at immunity, then got properly brought back into the competition and was given some upgraded cookware and better ingredients. At the end of the day it matters who the best chef is in the competition, but is the playing field even?

So do you think everyone who purchases something needs to share it with every other Player because it's a competition? By that logic, no Account should have something others don't.
A small number of Accounts that were wrongfully banned and got some compensation are not throwing off the balance of fairness in the competition. It's somewhat comical how creative people become to justify getting something as well when Kabam mentions compensation. There are certainly times when everyone deserves something. This isn't one of them. People who were falsely banned are being compensated. We might think it was too much, but Kabam apparently doesn't, and I don't think it's a democracy. Why can't we just be happy for people? Of all the complaining people do about Kabam not doing their part, chalk this one up to them coming through. We don't always have to have our eyes on everyone else's plate. That's not competition. That's being obsessively competitive.

We are fighting against hackers not against good loyal players...kabam has no problem in giving some people compensation...
we common people also equally responsible for growth of company...they should also show us some affection..
I personally think this is huge compensation....even though they are banned incorrectly..for 3 days...it's feels like they all enjoying free gifts without even playing...we play day and night and they treat us like nothing ...it's not acceptable...
I can't do anything...but if this is their attitude...then no issues..they just lost my loyalty...

For those who says why other people need compensation...I want to tell them...these ban waves have also effected them...I remember this ban waves hit when we are in middle of aw...our 2 members hit by ban waves ..1 person got un ban in 3 days...other still had no clue why he got banned...he said he downloaded game from playstore...
What I want to say is we were forced to lose that war because of this ban..I think many of our alliance also has faced similar situation...because u know how new aw work..
Banning incorrectly has effected in aw...bg team score...and if we fall below aw teir..then it will effect our radiance....
so we are not asking any favour...if they giving huge compensation...we also deserve ...
