I used a token, beat a level, and spent 10 points ranking up masteries. When I exited the masteries page I ended up back on the main game screen. I entered again, and I have to restart? Progress doesn’t save? I used a token to do nothing except waste my time?
The in-game “tutorial” was useless. The info immediately disappeared. I had zero idea about what was happening. Am I watching a passive turn-based scroller? The way I “play” is to watch the waves and then pick power-ups just to watch the next set of waves?
I want to be as diplomatic and positive as I can while providing constructive criticism, so here goes…this “game” is a dumpster fire, and so far I’d rather walk blindfolded and barefoot across a room with Lego strewn across the floor than ever consider putting any resources into this new mode.
I have done 3 runs with Thing, and when I look at the objective, I'm not given credit for it, so I'm at a point where I don't see the point in doing it if I'm not getting the rewards
Bugged./design flaws Masteries do not save. Hitting wrong button after finishing run does not save completion, uses entry and lose Mastery points.
No way to earn entry energy or healing/ revives unless spending $$.
A new game mode should have a free way to "test drive" the mode and try different things.
A 4 or 5 quest mini-game where there is free unlimited entry and can reset/ restart your game to try another build. A free source of healing and revives. A small set of completion rewards to start abd use in the real mode is enough for rewards.
Then after the players are familiar with the mechanics. You can offer the real mode with the real rewards.
Lost twice at 3rd stage due to insufficient health at last wave. How do I upgrade the champions? Through masteries only? Which ones do I put points into? There’s no health boost as well
Go undust the the old Atari system to play a game of Pong. Pong is more exciting than this mode. Maybe bring out the Nintendo handheld Donkey Kong game.
The game mode didn't come with a manual.
3 entries per 24 hours? Is it really stuck at 3,000 health?
Overall it was boring, it was not part of MCOC. There was no interaction in the game. It was more like it launched its own browser and a separate game with just F4 characters. Given existing MCOC has bugs, Kabam did this to as a means to avoid breaking the game further?
The announcement was a little hype. Why call it Doom Cycle? I was expecting Doc Doom on motorcycle arcade style game based on the title.
More than often I kept hitting the X which exits the mode. Kabam needs to take a class on user interface and navigation. When configuring mastery, I was expecting a Save button. Instead, clicked on the X which exits the mode; lost count how many times I did that.
This seems like an unpopular opinion, but I think it’s a fun mode and can be even more fun if you add complexity (not too much). Unfortunately, this mode crashed my phone and I lost a ticket.
It feels like homework tbh unless u spend 5-10$ to just get it over with right away, 3 runs a day when u need 8 for the chapters and FIFTY NINE for the shatter mode it is just way too much of a slog.
I liked parts of the mode i wish there was more to do within a fight itself but i honestly didnt hate the premise, the art was cool, but I just didn't like how long it is to get all the objectives. Cause yeah we have a month for it but we also have squad builder and raid month and battlegrounds (qualifying seasons so some people are focusing on just that) and way more things. BUT i think it can be improved and would be pretty cool eventually cause the rewards were nice
Personally, I love this style of game. I'm waiting for 3 chances each day. I know I'm in the minority here and I can totally understand why. This seems like it should be it's own thing, and if expanded upon I'd play it for sure.
Another day with no progress in getting past chapter 3. I also did a couple runs of chapter 2 to get the 10 mastery points instead of the 8 I seemed to get for failing chapter 3 but can't say that it feels like I'm progressing at all. I think I screwed up the masteries at first by spreading the points around the different characters since the game said something that made me think I should be using all of them but I've seen some people posting about just using 1 character so I'm not sure what the best FTP strategy is. Really dislike the mode and the way they set it up though.
Many people are upset about the 3 entries per day limit, but hear me out. Until this mode came out, I was fully F2P. However, this mode actually got me interested—so I bought 30 tokens and just after 15 entries, it became clear that the whole design was balanced with those 81 entries in total in mind. After creating good enough build it is unlikely to loose since shater mode has static difficulty.
Out of my 36 runs, I’ve only lost 6 times—4 in story mode (I didn't farm) and 2 in shatter, where I was doing objectives with other champs. (I overestimated invi woman’s shield healing.)Just to be clear, I am lucky enough to not have this mode bugged.
I used invi woman build around evade (damage ignore) and crit chance (power-up getter). After 15 entries, she could solo any level thanks to her shield (with healing) and invisibility (100% evade + 300% attack).
Another beginner-friendly option seems to be Human Torch, focused on damage. On the other hand, thing appears to be the worst starting option for beginners (or completly but that might be just my bias).
In the late gameplay (36 entries ), the strongest beast seems to be mr. fantastic with all 4 specials active and practicly all teamwork from invi woman. After he starts throwing specials he is practicly almost always invisible (100%) and cooking every doombot and with healing from shield from invi woman he often finishes wave 8 with full health. But as I said before he is for later game.
Even after 36 games, I’m still not entirely sure how the doombots work. Here’s what I’ve figured out: - Green: Healing - Red: Burn - Blue: Armor - Yellow: Seem to deal more damage and possibly lower evade chance slightly - Purple & light blue: Still a complete mystery to me
As for attack delay—it doesn’t seem to matter much unless you’re fighting a single Doombot. I had invi woman with less than 0.5s attack delay and I don't remember her attacking twice if there was 3+ doombots alive.
To conclude: 1. I may be in minority but I enjoy this mode 2. It is possible to get titan shards within 81 runs (possible not certain, also bugs may lower your chances) 3. If you have to buy something, only tokens are worth it. Using tickets for anything else seems inefficient 4. Keeping attack delay under 0.8s seems to be enough, although I won't say it is not worth investing in. 5. For beginers I would recommand using invi woman or torch and getting invi woman teamwork masteries pretty soon. 6. Evade, critical chance and special attack cooldown reduction seems to be most important masteries (at least for my build)
As a longtime player and forum member, I really, really want to provide useful feedback.
But this game-mode is just so awful, it's not really possible.
I'm not going to go into the little niggles about the fact it's largely based on guesswork and spending for more credits.
For me, the main problem is, unfortunately, the entire premise of the game: it's just plain boring and frustrating watching your champs getting their a$$es kicked, whilst you can do basically nothing except watch for the infrequent prompts to enhance a special attack.
I genuinely resent the fact that you've stuck a load of Mr Fantastic Research Grants in there, making test-playing something which is incredibly frustrating and time-consuming appear almost mandatory to get the 7* Mr Fantastic.
Can anyone confirm, please: are the Research Grants in the Dimensional Arcade objectives the ten denoted to "Special Gameplay Objectives", above?
And if so, are we able to still reach 100 Research Grants without having to wade through this game mode?
Can we try putting really good rewards like this in a mode that we like? Or can even tolerate?
I mean… if you put these rewards even in the most vanilla side quests the sentiment would be resoundingly positive. This is so epically bad, boring, stupid….. the rewards are the only reason to touch it.
Honestly, I am not a huge fan of this gameplay. The two star doombot would be a nice trophy champ to add to the roster but it's not something I would pay for. I also get this random "Unauthorized" message sometimes, you don't have permission to access this page. Not having any control over the Fantastic Four team and just watching them get smacked in the face is pretty annoying. This needs some fine tuning for sure!
Awful, boring garbage… won’t even bother for the rewards. This is a joke kabam spent time developing this… maybe would have been okay game in the 80s. After the poker which was nothing but gambling with no meaningful gameplay I wouldn’t have thought the game can sink any lowe
There's a strategy to it,I thought the same at first nothing to it but then I started understanding like if you build up you special and take your champ into the next round it continues but if you awich your champ you lose it That just 1 simple thing so much more to it take forever to explain it all
Anyone else having a problem not getting credit for doing a shatter run I’ve done five with human torch only have credit for three and I’ve done two with thing and only have credit for one
Absolutely hate this mode. How can this be considered a game? Even looking at the rewards, I can't bring myself to do any more of it. I'm tired of doing frustrating and/or joyless content just for the rewards.

Tapping doesn’t work anywhere. Swiping doesn’t work either. How do you control the champs 🤷♂️

Playing this mode disgusts me, 100% truth.

Spent $8 for the tickets to buy the tokens to knock out all the objectives. That was $8 well spent, boring, but easy rewards.
