You've got two options and the best answer may depend on your investment to this point - restart, or spend a good chunk of revives getting through. He's not impossible to beat without a relic, it's just going to take quite a long time in comparison and probably some revives. So 3-4 hours of time and roughly double the revives you already used, or maybe 30 minutes to an hour to get through him and who knows how many revives

You can get through it without a relic, you're just not going to deal big damage at any point. Each chunk of armor that you break increases the damage he takes.

I bet you can do him sub 10 revs and full heal evwrytim even without a relic.

it’s possible without a relic but it’ll take much longer. You can still get two of his shields down.

Would it be that much of a game breaking thing to allow putting relics on champs in a quest? Maybe not allowing to replace it with other; but equipping one?
