Doctor Voodoo "Buff" Miss

Hard to even call it a buff, but would have been such an improvement to give him some sort of different DOT against poison immune. Such a miss that his target match ups are also the class most immune to his main source of damage. They do it for other classes (like plasma for incinerate immune). Really a missed opportunity to not introduce something like that to make this champ more viable and unique. Instead they basically just left him as an irrelevant champ. Same with a few of the other "buffed" champs. Hard to understand why they would even take the time and resources on these champs knowing they'll remain on the bench... Wish we could get excited about the reviving of these classic champs, but instead it's just a bummer.

Yea, I was reading through his kit and thought I had forgotten to update or something, same with Night Thrasher. Like why did they even waste their time (and ours) on these "buffs".

He can do poison immune matchups without any issues, the power dissolve damage is enough to replace all the poison damage. As a matter of fact, I've been testing my 7* and going for power dissolves and damballa buffs is faster than trying to stack up poisons. I recommend you watch some videos and test him out a little more before making some sort of judgement call cause he is the second or third best buff from the pool easily.

Not saying he's top tier now or anything like that but the actual trash buffs were Sabretooth and Night Thrasher.

Night trasher slaps. He got a pretty good buff. Needs dupe though for full damage.

His damage was always good pre buff the only difference is he absolutely needed sig 200 which they fixed. However what they didn't fix is the ramp, having to throw 2-3 sp1s and 1 sp2 to get good damage in one fight (especially BGs) is just mediocre. They should've accelerated his ramp cause he's still as slow as he was before for short fights so he can't even do the matchups he's meant to do like Spider Woman and MODOK, he's way too slow.

Matches that are poison immune and can't be dealt with with his power control damage aren't his target match ups though.

These buffs were only ever going to be tune ups to the abilities they had and not changing or adding anything drastically, Voodoo sp2 is the biggest change of the pool and given the results of that it's hardly a dud. Dll said that giving every champion who deals dot a way to get around immunities defeats both the point of immunities and the rarity of being able to work around them, it's not something they're going to slap on every character that deals dot

more power gain and more combat power rating based on debuffs on the opponent?

Also why not have replacement debuffs with certain effect on them like Spider Man stun working as physical Vulnerability

the heavy simply appling the taunt without needing other buffs would already be a huge advantage since you could ramp damage right of the start

Of course, that's why they make it so it only affects their target match ups, like only cosmic poison immune. Same as mutants and plasma.. They should also do it for venom who's main damage source is bleed, but his target matches are techs (robots). Just makes them so much less useful, when a small change would fix that. There are only a few champs that have this issue, so no one is saying to make ways around all DOT, only these few champs who's main mechanics are disabled by it. Which they have already done in several other cases. Just my opinion:)

I have, and he's just not good. Maybe duped and high sig he's ok, but so many other mystics do it better. Also what about nullify immune champs? He's completely useless against them as well. I just think if they're going to take the time to buff a champ, they should really try to do it in a way that makes them relevant, otherwise, what's the point?

You should've started your post with "my Voodoo isn't duped" because now everything actually makes sense. Voodoo is absolutely useless and completely unreliable without the dupe, dupe him first at least once and then you'll see he's actually decent.

Well yeah that's because nullify immune aren't his target matchups, his target matchups are Dark Phoenix Serpent Maestro Thanos Karolina Adam and Hyperion which he does nicely with high HP and barely any effort. None of these buffs were supposed to be taking them from outdated to top 5 in their classes, just outdated to decent hence my comment about Sabretooth and NY being the actual misses. Every other buff is fine.

Target audience for rebirth reworks is the low-mid level valiants, no reason for anyone slightly competitive in battlegrounds to use them. They are overhyped for most endgame players whose main focus is battlegrounds since better options already exist over every single one of them.

For Vodoo, who are you replacing with him? Is it Nico, Tigra, Juggernaut, Enchantress, Kushala, Shathra or Spiral? Can even make a case for champions like Hood and Rintrah despite them not being as dominant as the ones I mentioned. All those champions add a ton more value to your deck. He won't be preferable outside of maybe once every few metas. And don't even try gaslighting, he is objectively quite slow. Even 6 star Nico is much faster and better overall, he wouldn't even replace her as a lower rarity.

Sabretooth and Night Thrasher are not even worth commenting on.

Cull destroys Zola and Red Skull which is cool but he's not that versatile and unless new relics are as impactful, he will suffer due to the block proficiency. You either have abysmal block proficiency or crit rating with the stat focus choice which is also quite the dilemma. Current victory track meta probably boosts him as well with the inexorable allowing you to chain heavies anywhere in the stage, I even got a 30 second full yellow bar Hyperion vs Jean fight due to this node and I didn't have the best RNG either. Also if Zola and Red Skull are that much of a threat to you, why not actually use Gladiator who does them just as well albeit a little bit slower but also does many more? He isn't as indimidate dependent as Titania contrary to the popular belief and his actually works just fine as long as you know how to play around it.

Anti-venom is not designed around short fights, so many more suitable science champions for this game mode. You wouldn't use him just for his damage and unless his utility is required, it is pointless to have him in your deck.

I honestly don't know much about Viv and can't comment purely from what I've seen on Youtube but there are so many amazing tech champions for bgs that I doubt anyone but her fans would actually use her, she also needs max sig if possible.

Again, they might put in work for low-mid level valiants but not that they are objectively great; primarily because of the fact that those players don't have access to better options. Their value is entirely roster dependent and all the top battlegrounds players already have much better options. They won't shape the meta in any way.

If he got the "500 dollars or ps5" Rebalance treatment then he would've got degen or some other kind of debuff when enemy is immune to poison damage.

Poisonimmune cosmics can still be managed with his sp2 for the most part, honestly the sp2 rotations just feel way stronger in general

Actually it's the same miss as sabretooth. If he wouldn't loose his fury's, he could be a pretty potent damage-dealer rampup champ, but nah, here is 4 fight with him good luck
