I think you're boned
You joined after they completed those milestones. With all alliance events that work like this, you need to be in the alliance before the milestone is earned. You can only claim milestones that you contribute to.
Which is dumb for event formats like this because op DID contribute. He put in just as much work as everyone else, he just joined a little late his contribution still matters and it's nasty of kabam to bone players like this.
I will actually tag mods on this. Not because I think they'll solve the issue but for more visibility into these cases.

So my contribution points count but not able to get the milestones don’t?! Then why give me a 24 hour wait period to contribute? Instead should have just locked me out or else I wouldn’t have spent $99 for the bundle and extra 2k units.
also what about the milestones that haven’t been reached. If I continue to spend more and use more units would I be able to claim?
Yes, you will be able to claim any milestones achieved after you joined the alliance.
In a sense, yes, it is dumb. But in another sense, what then is there to stop players for claiming rewards multiple times by joining our creating new alliances every time they get all the rewards?
Kabam being able to develop an event where it tracks your contribution and what you've already achieved.
Or just dont make this event an alliance event in the first place
You can’t claim multiple times. The milestones that you already got show “claimed”.
I double contributed (old ally’) and (new ally). If I am making the contribution minimum all over again in the new ally I should be able to claim what not previously claimable. And let’s say I drop another 3k units, so I can get the last two milestones but nothing in the middle!? Why would anyone do that.
I have this same issue. I waited until I rejoined my ally (took one war season off because I was on vacation) to contribute and now after spending $100, I’m finding out that I can’t receive any milestone rewards. My ally was pushing for rank rewards so they completed all milestones before I joined.
This seems poorly thought out as only players who contribute points can claim the milestones as is (so no potential for abuse). It also penalizes those allies who would otherwise compete for rank rewards as they now have fewer members with incentive to add points. Usually for cash/unit ally events such as these, there is an announced blackout date, but none was announced for this event.
Kabam got back to me and basically said “that’s your problem for not checking before joining a new alliance and knowing the rules. “
My reply:
I would also like to recommend, to Kabam to give a “fair warning” to players. When the next “alliance spending event comes” , if they join a new alliance that already reached the milestones and you contribute, after the “waiting period”, you won’t be getting anything!
There's no need to warn people about what has always been the case with these types of events. You don't get things your alliance earned before you got there. Pretty straightforward.
Right for normal BGS Alliance Quest etc. This is spending event that you have to contribute money or units to even qualify. A lot different than just playing in game events.
Had the same issue, joined an alliance, waited 24h, spent money and opened crystals, but couldn't claim the milestones. Thought it was a bug...I feel screwed
You feel that way because you were screwed. There's no reason to lock players out for an event like this
So you can’t claim in a new ally if you haven’t claimed any rewards at all? This is beyond poor execution by Kabam given the lack of notice and the timing of people moving for bgs and alliance war seasons.
I get the double claim issue, but if someone hasn’t claimed any rewards at all, they should be able to receive the rewards.
