Prestige sucks even more when you think about the fact that the resources needed to increase prestige also scale with prestige now. You feel stuck because even taking a champion to r4 doesn't increase your prestige too much and your rewards are nerfed untill you're able to raise your prestige.
Just to reiterate point #2 - not only is Classic a waste of time, it a waste of energy…. Of which our refills have been nerfed into the ground. This removal was to be because we wouldn’t need it for EQ going forward. Yet, here we are with daily quests we need to complete too with energy.
Top 30 means taking a Champ to R4 isn't the only focus. R4 one when you can, but your bigger boost is getting a larger number of them to R3.
also, the node design and format of elder is completely outdated. Match the nodes to modern champ characteristics. Or get rid of the class restrictions. It’s an anachronistic quest design that was carelessly dropped into the new vision for EQ.
I agree with your points at the end. However, the complaint that it is too difficult is valid. These attack values and health is ridiculous for the rewards we get in return. Especially when we need to use lower ranked champs in order to complete the elder difficulty
Its not even the difficulty or the length or whatever you wanna call it.
Times like this is when you really wonder if they even play their own game, and its with justified reason.
Look at the attack values, putting the mutant node?... 10% bleed dmg is still a lot. A Strikers gets launched into block by accident and the poison will pretty much just end you. There is a serious lack of foresight on how things are done. Difficult I get, but this is not difficult its just plain sabotaging.
Not any r3s unfortunately, they need to be high sig or at least have some sigs. I already have two of my r3s not even contributing to my prestige.
What needs to be tested? Cut the health and attack of the defenders in half and the difficulty is acceptable. Pretty sure that could be implemented quite easily into the current EQ.
Next time test the Quests before you release them, not after. Then you would have realized that the Bleed from the first quest, despite being only 10% damage, is still absurdley high
ye, I'm valient at level 3/15 for crappy rewards and have 4 r3 7*s not in my top 30. I don't have a huge account. I have 17 r3 and 3 r4 7s and 30 r2s. I'm at 3/15! the rewards are bad.
It would be a boring, miserable slog but I'd manage EQ at the difficulty it is now, if the rewards were any good. It's not just the difficulty!
Saw the uproar and just now getting into it. I usually use my newer champs in the monthly quests to learn them. This time i wanted to take my new R3 Cull for a spin. The ramp up is painfully long in classic difficulty. Fight 2 was against Hit Monkey. Pushed him to an SP2 once. Was at 30% health-block damage took him out from the initial machine gun fire. LOL-yes i know he isnt a good option for the nodes-yes i know i should have kept at SP1-but event quest is not where i go when i want to play challenging and do my best to play as perfect as am i capable of. Event quest has always been a more relaxing and forgiving content that allows me to try stuff out and test some champs. These changes have just made event quest a poor balance of rewards for effort that I wont bother with.

EQ was a place we could go to face the newly introduced champs and see what they’re all about ,..and MAYBE have a couple curveballs of difficulty thrown at you.
It’s like if Kabam were one single being giving you a gift,..they would gift you what they like,..(thinking it’s what we all would like),..but no it’s not,..not even close.

You should get off your discord servers,..get back to the forums and start to listen to the ones that criticize you most,..cause those are the ones that TRULY care,..that’s my take anyway
Classic would be fine if it was there as a backup for players who don't have a deep enough bench for Elder. You could at least get some lesser rewards while being able to reuse certain champs for every fight/path, like Omega Red or Colossus for the mutant quest. But the combination of nodes and attack/health values means that even that still isn't fun. They take way too much time to clear, and you don't even get a courtesy reward of 50k gold for completing a oath. You need to clear three of these unfun things just to get to the next milestone.
Dude, I had to reset my whole general questing masteries to get that mutant quest done. It is way overtuned with those biohazard numbers. It's wild.
And like you said, those attack values are something else. Get clipped once and you're screwed in some of the fights.

They finally listened and stopped making us do TB to unlock paragon gauntlet, then gave us an awesome crucible style valiant EQ, then gave us crucible style elder difficulty that we have to go through another quest to unlock! 🤣
They're so out of tune with their player base it's ridiculous.

I honestly wonder how they came up with this values, what was it just a general +100% tune or something? What would someone even use to test stuff like this? A bunch of dev owned 7r5s?
The issue is these health pool and attack values. There is absolutely no way this was tested by anybody that actually plays the game. I refuse to believe that this content was tested by a player. They need to Nerf this immediately and not wait until next month. An average player will use more resources finishing this than they would a piece content.
When the resources needed to complete a piece of content faaaaaaaaarrrrrrrr outweighs the rewards, something is seriously wrong. I took a spin on the elder garbage. It took multiple restarts for the first three quests and all of my health potions and about 400 credits. The skill path is just stupid. Unless you play perfectly, like MSD level, there is no way to get not just get chipped down from basic blocks. And god forbid you mess up once. One s1 and you are dead. I think I’m actually more outraged now than I was when it first dropped. You didn’t merely miss the mark…you didn’t even try to aim, Kabam. Shame on all of you.
Looking at the history, we can clearly see they never test anything. They don't care, they have us to test on live release. Just buy doing very first fight they would have noticed there would a problem. But that would only happened if they test it.
But I am sure all those $ deals, they test them extensively before releasing and must have dedicated team to milk whales.
They're addressing the difficulty as the main problem, but in my opinion it goes deeper. Eq would always be a place to get resources in order to get some champs ranked, even if in little amounts, but consistently.
This provided us with opportunities to get stronger little by little, in order to tackle difficult but rewarding contents.
The ideia of the changes goes against the purpose of it by itself, its keeping us from rewards that we were getting before.
The Prestige thing wasn't that well thought, it pushes newer valiants to difficults that are impossible and reduce resources possible to get since it limits availability according to prestige, not capabilities.
I enjoy picking the difficulty I want to play. There are times I play the highest option I have and it is usually a challenge, but other times I want to relax and just plow through a lower difficulty. That seems to have gone away. So you promoted me to Paragon with no option to play a lower level. Next time I am in the mood for pure frustration I will give it a shot. Until then, I think it is time for a break. Maybe I am missing something, wouldn’t be the first time, but I think a break is in order anyway.
it’s funny how Kabam now have people that we know play the game, like Mike, Dork or Fintech and they still release content like this. So untested and so ****. Who the hell puts 16 fights on nodes were you can’t heal by willpower or put nodes where you need armor ups when at least the last 6 champions you release doesn’t fit the criteria.
I agree with the negative feedback. That being said, maybe it’s time MCOC introduces a higher progression title for accounts that can handle this level of difficulty.
It’s not just about the damage thresholds, but also the missed attacks when attempting to punish a special, the magically timed dexes rendering medium attacks fruitless unless performed post-heavy, and the underwhelming damage from my SP3 attacks (anyone else notice this lately?).
This content sucks. Giant spender out of yet another game mode. I’ll be back when you have some Everest content that’s worth it and fun.
As for the response from Kabam - appreciate the communications and hearing the player base as it comes to EQ and the new setup. As a Valiant FTP I enjoy monthly EQ so much. It’s fun, helps with stocking up on mats, shards, gold and sig stones. It’s a. The past few months have been a great tune up imo. I don’t mind the champion swap and class restrictions that much- I manage to clear the content and it’s enjoyable for me.
With that being said as someone who loves EQ - this change is probably the worst update I’ve seen in a long time and I’ve been here for 10+ years. As others mentioned it’’s a drain on time, resources, and chase. I just cleared the normal mode and got a premium hero crystal and some t2cc. I don’t know how cav, or TB players will even fair with those health pools in normal mode also. Crazy. The Elder difficulty is horrible. Bleed nodes, stupid high health pools and attack ratings. This will be the first month in 6 years I haven’t finished/explored EQ. I can’t afford the revives or energy let alone use a mutant roster that is 80% not immune to bleed and poison DOT. Blade’s chip damage was nuts on my bleed immune 7* R3 Dust. 7* R1’s and below melt 50 seconds in to each fight.
All of this to say- thanks for the response but we are day 2 into a new month of EQ. If I’m reading this correct- there won’t be any re-tunes, or updates until next month? That’s crazy. I’ve stayed in game for every shenanigan, outrage, scandal, compensation or even lack thereof. I think I’ve posted to forums like 5 times over the life of my account. As a FTP player I have a high tolerance for grinding through and also pretty low expectations as to what this game provides an account like mine. But this is one of the wildest negative impact an update has had on my game play / account. I’m progressing through all the act 9 content, clearing all daily/monthly challenges, battle grounds etc but new EQ has always been the highlight of the month especially in the days where I was just grinding to try and become uncollected, Cav, TB with the slowest rank up materials acquisition ever.
Is there a way where this can be resolved in some form or level of playability for the month until the issues get sorted? I genuinely can’t believe the EQ rewards given to Cav, TB, Paragon, or Valiant for the energy spent to progress to elder. Literally the first total net-negative in EQ I’ve ever had playing EQ. One month till resolve is honestly just bad customer service, PR, and IT.
I also echo the sentiment as everyone else when it comes to prestige, the changes, and that it’s all tied to EQ progression/rewards? Why was any of this green lighted? Someone or multiple people HAD to know this was going to be horrible and either they were pushed back on or someone in the top offices has shown again that they don’t care at all about the customer base until it affects their revenue. There’s 100000 lessons Kabam has had the opportunity to learn from in the last 10 years from Kabam Mike scolding everyone one forums, to silent nerfs, and hundreds of other ways the loyal base has been slighted and ignored over the years. I don’t love losing 5k prestige but I can deal with it, we’ll see how the change works but tying that to EQ and rewards and just changing so much of the game in one update shows how out of touch the company is with the players.
