Isn't this the 2nd vid he is making? First one being about almost quitting though? Or was it a different Kam?
They are for me, he is a very well known ccp member that has been around a long time.
People quit all the time, and they're well within their rights to do so. Evetytime someone on YouTube quits, the doomsday posts come. There are obviously problems. They know it as much as we do. They're not sitting in an office, oblivious to them.
That doesn't mean there are easy solutions. Believe me, I haven't been happy about the changes, and I've voiced that. I still don't think a boycott, or people quitting, or any protest will fix them any faster.
I do think one area that could be improved on is communication. It's somewhat lacking lately.
At this point i dont think anything can fix what kabam has done to this game and this community.
All we can do is let them know that and hope for the best whether we'll be here if they ever decide to course correct or not
The balance of things going good and things going bad is severely tilted to the bad side.
I agree on the communication issue, and it actually makes it worse to know we lost our community manager to organizing a live event that will be attended by what? 500 people maybe?...
Their priorities are all over the place. If it was bugs well every game has bugs; but lately its not even bugs, they are plain mistakes.
I’m down for a boycott. Let’s go… this deal just popped up for some reason and it is atrociously greedy. 5.5k units for a single base pool 7* crystal 😂😂😂😂🦛💨
I mean…I've been boycotting all sales events, so that works for me, regardless of everything else.
LOO THIS GUY is gonna spend and whale out on cyber deals, he does this every time
5000 units is for 5 small energy refills and 500 units for 7* crystal and gold as Energy refills are invaluable nowadays😂
#play for free,..and then you can truly say what boycott?,.or who cares who caved on a boycott .
I’m on a permanent boycott 😝.
A day later Vega is gonna explain that he saw some very insightful and heart touching posts by an forum member ( who I will not name as we all know) as to why its so crucial to have so many sales and for that he will be going all in.
I've never seen a game to where it's some sort of badge of honor to call for boycotts, profess your intent to quit etc. I'm the first in line to complain about the poop controls, AI and other things but I understand that it comes with the territory when you're playing games. They all have issues albeit some more than others.
Background nugget - I've worked in every level of the game industry .. behind the curtain with developers, community teams, event marketing … all the E3s, Comic Cons etc etc. I've been intimately connected to the industry from Microsoft to EA to SEGA to Remedy to Capcom to ID to Gearbox to Bethesda to Atari to Nintendo to ya know .. nerdville lol. Still, I don't understand the goal of trying to champion a boycott or profess your plans to quit. I'm sure Kabam would fix everything in the game if they could and I'm sure they intend to because it's a company who is in it to make money, pay their employees etc. So it's in their best interest to make sure their game is enjoyable .. with or without previously mentioned boycotts and public quitting.
I just don't get the outrage and what is quite normal in the industry and technology period. What Kabam needs to do is focus on growing a real all inclusive community that spans beyond just YouTubers. They need to hit the ground floor and cultivate a game-wide voice for its players … CCP is one thing but there needs to be more, so that the community at large can feel like it's their game too. Maybe that's the angle they're taking with CCP 2.0.
The more you grow that voice, the more likely it is you'll get the opposite of these quit videos and quit posts and boycott stances. Right now Kabam comes off as a company who doesn't listen to its community. Which is crazy because they do a LOT of listening to the community. But it feels that way because they're really lacking a voice "in" the community. Community is such a slippery slope where games are concerned and it's delicate in how you foster it, nurture it and help it become something that sustains itself over time.
People champion boycotts as a last-ditch effort to enact some sort of change or elicit a response. As you said (and i paraphrase), Kabam comes off as a company that doesn't give 2 sh*ts about their community and never listen to or take in any feedback. If they didn't have that reputation (that they admittedly continue to plant themselves firmly into) then the community would not feel the need to start boycotts.
Also, based on the seriousness of your post, I'm not sure if you knew that this forum post is making fun of the boycott and the video from Vega.
Um.... just dumb.
Fix what?
How do you fix a mistake like leaving a champion out of a crystal?
How do you make a mistake of overtuning monthly content after 4 months of live testing?
Bugs you can fix, bugs come with the territory and the industry, you already know that from experience. Mistakes is a whole different issue. Compare it to a car, sure it can break anytime and you can say well "Sh"t happens", its not the same as filling it up with diesel instead of gas and having it break.
The current state is a complete lack of care and neglect, its not bugs.
I don't care about what Vega does, promotes or what his intentions are. He had a chance and folded exactly the way Kabam wanted. They gave some sparkly items for 2 BG seasons and it was all good for him.
Why do I have a feeling that crashed discussed about his upcoming dev diary with some ccp (only mafia closed circle), and thats why, Vega the clickbaiter made a post to be a step ahead of kabam for his views and make his followers feel like his premeditated video was the reason kabam listened to the community.
Because it's exactly what happened with the boycott over bgs. These guys are all in alliances with people who work for the damn company. They know everything in advance.
Look like a hero, sacrifice nothing.
Still, can't wait for the dev diary explaining why it's actually better for us to spend units on energy to play the game.
