I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS

So while climbing the victory track i got matched with a 4Loki dude. Now that's not an issue but when I saw the roster I had no words. The guy has 29 rank 4s and all 30 champs as sig 200s. How does my FTP account with 5 rank 4s supposed to compete with that.

The beginning of any season all players start from the same place and work up.. so in the beginning any account can be matched with any account in VT.. the more the season goes on, the more stronger accounts have already moved up and less likely to match them

But my question to the other guy is: Whats up with the Fam hate? :)

Kabam dont care about competitive integrity of this game in BG.
A competitive event is supposed to be an even playing field. At the max, I would say whales should have 2 times the rank 4s FTP players have and that should be it.
30 or more rank 4s should not even be allowed in this game for competitive play.

What they should do is put a cap on rank 4 7 stars in BG, that way whales can spend as much as they want and get as many rank 4s as they want but for BG..you should fall into a certain ruleset or threshold for the max rank. Maybe lik 15 max rank 4s. But I am pretty sure whales will get mad and start complaining about this and so Kabam will not implement this.

If you think BG is fair for FTP anymore ..its not..don't even think that for a second. It was fair few months ago before Kabam started doing sale after sale.

To the OP, and because I just really fancy arguing the toss over this one because this always annoys me.

it’s a mobile phone game we’re playing here. It’s not the olympics. It was never designed to be some kind altruistic competition with an even playing field. It’s a game designed to make money that you can play for free if you like.

The developers don’t owe you anything because you haven’t paid for anything. If you’ve got 7 rank 4’s you must have been playing the game long enough to know what the deal is.

Being FTP doesn’t give anyone any kind of moral supremacy here. Being wholly and properly FTP gives you no rights and no expectations. You’ve enjoyed their game and the work of their developers for years and haven’t handed over so much as $5 to show your appreciation for it. And then you complain about having to compete with accounts bigger than your own.

I have no issues with FTP. Choose what you spend your money on. But you have no moral position to complain that you’re being treated unfairly in an open competition within a mobile phone game, or that Kabam has some kind of obligation to adjust their rules and game construct to account for people who have made no financial contribution to the development and continued running of the game.

You hit the nail on the head. It really baffles me how entitled FTP has become in this game. Let's do a perspective check please. Losing to a whale does absolutely nothing to you in real life as this is just a game. Being outspent in a mobile game is not oppression. It's just the business model of a free-to-play game that you decided to play.

I don't think Beroman is a whale yet he constantly wins Celestial 1 and I don't hear any whales coming to the forums to complain why they din win despite having so many rank 4, no entitlement from any whales at all

I've been in similar situations. You look at the screen and every champion you see is an r4, and you have to scroll down to begin seeing r3s.

I've found that there are two ways the match can go. One is that they consistently pull a counter that is one rank higher than your defender or place a defender that is one rank higher than your attacker, which will most likely result in them steamrolling you. That feels like ****.

However, just having higher-ranked champions doesn't necessary result in an automatic victory. I've had situations where I've both beaten higher-level accounts myself by banning the right champs and finding ways to punch up, as well as struggled against accounts with lower-ranked champs than me simply because they were really good at the game and did the best they could with what they had.

It's not an automatic loss, even if it's certainly an uphill battle. Similarly, you can never be complacent when the opposite thing happens to you because some grit and determination can quickly carry your opponent to victory if you mess up.

OMG ..the game would die without whales spending..so stop complaining and let the whales walk all over you.
Such a sad crowd here really.
All the ruckus that has happened recently is because the company has become more and more greedy. I am not gonna argue the fact that spenders will always have an advantage, but the extent of that advantage was always in the balance before. Now they are just trying to squeeze as much money as possible and the whales are paying up. And the results are what you see here.

PvP mode which lets remember , Kabam wanted to make an esports event out of it..is mostly only accessible to skilled + spenders. If you lack either you cannot make it to celestial and above.
I would much rather prefer that it was only the skilled aspect. And that along with perseverance is why Beroman is at the top with long hours of grinding.
Btw Beroman also has 21 r4s I think, thanks to stream donations and participating in most of the sales event so far I think. Cos otherwise you cannot maintain yourself at the top.

I ain't gonna complain about it but I am gonna call out what it is..its unfair and stop putting a blanket statement over it again and again saying..just move on its nothing.

everyone who reached GC last season, starts from the same level(most of the time 😬)

first few days will be both whales n small accounts. No point in crying about one bad match up.

u have to give it a few days for the field to spread out.

A fair solve in my opinion would be to push everyone a fixed level below wrt their GC level.

These takes are so tiring. Where do you get this notion that just because it's a competitive mode that it should be fair and equal? All a competition is, is an event in which players compete against each other with a defined set of rules. The rules in bgs are that everyone has a deck of 30 champions to choose from, they each get 3 bans and play a best of 3 match. That's it. No where does it state it's supposed to be even.

Name a competitive sport where money doesn't dictate who wins most of the time?

Play and enjoy the mode up until whatever level it is you can reach whether that's via skill limitations or roster limitations or don't play it at all. Even if it was even, the same players would finish in the same spots anyway.

I look at the prestige of my opponents after every match, so far I see that I am matched against those who have very similar prestige as me, I haven't got any opponents with more than 3k prestige lesser than me

I think matchmaking now takes into account prestige but occasionally you do get those with much higher prestige but that should be very rare nowadays

Counter Strike, Valorant, Apex legends ? These are all team games where the main thing is strategy and mechanics or skill.
Only thing you can buy in these games is cosmetics, you cannot buy any advantage in a real competitive e- sport.
