Business model is to make F2P?

Copied & pasted below and quotes are from my reaction to the Spider Woman nerf, but it’s really more of a question to you, Kabam, of whether or not you want a sustainable consumer base who wants to support your project?

If so, then why are you constantly “treating us like kids who can’t delineate between what is inconsistent and subsequently us viewing what you say and/or do as disingenuous at best” instead of the adults you say you do?

Most grown people who have discretionary income can decipher what’s disingenuous and constantly doing the things you’ve done will push this consumer base away…e.g.,

“I buy 4 figure NFTs for fun so discretionary income is fine to spend on enjoyment, and You, Kabam, have made me a f2p player out of principle because of how you’ve done things and continue to do things. The way you continue to show it won’t change for the better makes it even easier to not support this project”…

… and even if you made a quick profit, you’ve lost all my future spend. What company whose business model is as such ever survived?

Trust is a currency and you’ve certainly betrayed mine and subsequently not receiving my currency as a result. Why continue to do this to the people whom you say you are for?
“It’s hard to trust a company whose business practices are not aligned with what most consider to be fair for consumers - oh, and don’t get me started on how you went about the Zola compensation, as it’s violating consumer practices and at minimum disingenuously shady”

Cause I am seeing a big mixture of old time forum members and a lot of new ones disgusted at the game....

The company is in trust debt, and they just spent another million dollars. I don’t see a way they can fix this whatsoever. I’ve never been this close to putting the game down and not touching it again

”Trust debt” well said! Ya, agreed. Ultimately that’s my issue is the trust thing, because trust is a very valuable currency especially for customers who give their currencies

Kabam doesn't care about your loyalty, they just want to make as much money as possible. Any investment you make is already useless by the next sale. The balancing program is just an excuse for them to milk all the players with an op champ and then nerf them and keep all the profits. The really addicted spenders don't care regardless and will keep falling for the same bait.

I don't even know how anyone can stick around given the extent to which Kabam has breached our trust.

I got so fed up I actually quit the game and all the forums two weeks ago.

The whale money is still flowing. That’s why are emboldened to do whatever they want regardless of the community reaction. So far, the whales are still buying up everything. Nothing is going to change until that stops. Arguably there was enough of a threat of them walking that flipped the energy play. But Kabam is destined to never learn apparently

I have stopped trying to point out how people can just quit if they're this unhappy. So I just use sarcasm now, but it rarely lands even when it's absurd like what you picked up on.

Depending almost exclusively on whales is not sustainable on multiple levels. My almost 2 years in MCOC is limited but in that small time frame alone, and especially as of late, it's been evident that the powers that be in Kabam do not know how to create and run a sustainable model - as evidenced by the various and numerous community outcries including from whales themselves.

So if the whales are also getting frustrated to the point that even a few handful leave consistently because Kabam consistently do asinine things, then what, Kabam?

I'm not a whale but I used to spend hundreds at a time and used to be willing to spend - and the marketshare that fits my profile becoming F2P or quit entirely can and will make a difference and then what, Kabam?

Kabam, you need to make money and that's fair - hopefully you actually "listen" not just hear the feedback and actually do something materially impactful on the positive for your player base / consumer base, instead of constantly and consistently making decisions opposite of these.

Whales can only do so much. And certain whales will only take so much.

So glad I retired about 5 months back after playing since year 2 of the game coming out. Best thing ever, was hard to leave a large account like that, but knowing kabam is a disgusting company and will absolutely never change, gives me solice. These types of posts never end. They really love destroying their own products, dumbest business model ever.

I’ve only been in for about 2 years and have 2 (relatively speaking) good accounts and it was tough to convert into a F2P because I’m competitive and enjoy the challenge of building things - so I’d probably have a tougher time wasting all that effort. It’s in part why I wish Kabam would truly consider making better holistic decisions
