Are you in the CCP? Just as a for instance you claim he is over inflating himself by saying he is the one of very few who was outspoken. You got proof he isn’t? I don’t see other CCPer’s taking issue with this statement.

This is a man who said he wasn't comfortable with the dark pheonix thing but STILL did all the milestones up to her in the HoF because god forbid he'd have to miss out on any of the other champs.

Liked his thoughts on Kabam's approach/failure to fixing AI and what they should do to address it.

With the state of the game and aspects of the long and short-term decision making, it's hard not to give a comprehensive constructive criticism without bashing many aspects of the game.

I could see how he hurt alot of feelings(people working the AI issue) but his points are valid.

I'll preface this by saying that I normally really like Vega. While I follow quite a few MCOC Youtubers nowadays, he is one of the few I've followed for years.

That being said, lately I've been feeling as if he's constantly angry at things. Yes, this month has sucked. There are a lot of angry videos you can make about what happened, and he has, and he's been right to be angry about most of those things. I've been too. However, despite all of this, I'm just not at his level of outrage at everything going on right now. When the Zola Titan bug happened, he made a video being outraged that the comp was woefully insufficient. Meanwhile, I thought it was about as good as you could reasonably expect it to be. Those who missed out on Zola and really wanted him could get a guaranteed copy of him, while those who weren't as keen for whatever reason just got a free Titan crystal. I thought that was a really good solution to the problem given the tricky circumstances, but he vehemently disagreed.

Even when I've thought something has been bad - and there has been many bad things lately - it's clear that we simply land in different tiers of outrage about everything that's going on in the game right now. I just find that pretty exhausting.

I have no clue what happened in the CCP or why he's stepping away. While I do tend to watch the videos he's putting out, he's put out a lot of rather long videos in the past few days and I haven't kept up with all of them. But either we're simply on two different wavelengths going forward (which would be a shame, since I like the guy) or he could simply do with a little breather and is doing so by stepping away from things a bit (which is what I hope all of this is).

October marks my year anniversary when I stopped caring about mcoc.

Dropped all sorts of the grind and pushes. Completely changed my perspective and how to pursue the game.

Unsubbed all mcoc youtubers except a couple of cool guys with ~1k subs.

Best decision ever.

Not interested in fueling the online drama. Not going to watch videos I don't have to watch.

Don't care about people I dont care about. Be it the pompous short circuit know it all dll, tring to monetize his channel releasing memebers only content of how things are as a kabam designer. I call it unfair tactic vs the youtubers who were putting much more effort than him before he was part of the equation. Be it Vega, the lord saviour clickbaiter. Be it the crybaby creating drama bero. Or the Screaming Andy and trappy. Be it kt1, another clickbaiter, also the guy who is boycotted by the Kabam Mafia CCP and the elitist 4loki group (not all but many). No criticism on nah, for the time he streamed bgs, he was cool. I have stopped hating on karatemike (except zemid, thats just opinion), people are taking free jabs on him for wrong reasons. He is doing his job. Don't really care about dork. He was tasked to communicate with the community, no one in mcoc history comes close for being worse community manager. Msd is young, good kid but biased. Lagacy is dishonest. PapaSeatin...im not a fan like I used to be...he was the number 1 guy who thought about us little people. But he left. And things changed.

Imma still be doing my thing.... these guys don't matter to me. Game gets closed down, so be it. I have backup hobbies.

I've criticised kabam loads of times. Just the other day I mentioned the BS DLL has spouted in the past in regards to the defender/counter cadance.

reading the comments and seeing many people realize DLL is a big problem feels a bit vindicating. When Photon was released and I reached out to him about her design on his spotlight video. We had some exchanges and I knew there's something wrong with him and that things are about to get worse. The community as whole, generalizing here, is an accomplice. We kept praising him: he makes very good champions, but are they balanced, though? Where is the line drawn and how far are they pushed? Other designers will follow suit to get praise, eventually, one problem will evolve into another. He is a guy who does no wrong, rather you don't understand. Even when he’s wrong, he will frame it in a justifying way. If you like go through the comment sections of his videos, read any comment suggesting changes or criticism and pay attention to his responses.

I don’t even think it was just the criticism that was the problem. To me, an outsider, it just seems that he’s trying to project himself as the ‘saviour’ trying to appeal to the community to be the good guy. Even if he’s genuine it doesn’t come across like that to me. He was juggling between normal criticism and asking for a full blown boycott so ofc, naturally he wasn’t welcome

This game feels way too cliquey a lot of the time. Para-social BS is way too common. Maybe some of these kids will grow up some day, or face hard reality when the game which they've made their identity shuts down.

My guess is that Vegas' move on from the "AI improvemnt" team got him torched on the CCP discord by the Kabam developers. Kabam seems like an environment that is ruled by developers and these groups can be brutal towards marketing/sales which is why we should all feel for Kabam Rex right now. Anyone else catch that Rex called the new EQ developer the "Pain" programmer on the last live stream? Fast forward two weeks and the playerbase is like EQ is too hard.

With all that said, all these minor tweaks are going to be worthless if Kabam doesn't fix the problems. I agree with Vega you need to fix stuff.

Those depictions are so accurate and your decision is very respectable. I also agree with @J0eySn0w and the questions brought. No matter how much the community tries to sugarcoat most DLL champions as "strong but balanced" there are obviously overtuned ones such as Kate and Serpent yet people will deny Kate being broken just cause she is an attacker. Similar thing exists for Nico currently, even Torch doesn't counter mystics as hard as this girl can counter cosmics cause she literally shuts down every single mechanic they possess which leaves 0 room for mistakes or skill expression. Most people you see would riot if she was to be nerfed and I partially understand since even Serpent gets a pass somehow.

Rebalancing program is a joke and gives the impression that Kabam doesn't even play their own game. Putting Kate in the 7 star vote for example was obviously a mistake they got away with since nobody would expect to see Kate as a 7 star maybe ever at this point, knowing what she's capable of.

If community cared about game balance Kate would have been nerfed. If Kabam cared about game balance Serpent would have been nerfed. I just dislike the hypocrisy on both sides.

As for the Spider-Woman nerf, in an ideal scenario where Serpent wasn't considered balanced, I think most competitive players would agree that she was a bit too strong on defense. That ability accuracy reduction was so unnecessary and one of the most problematic parts of her kit. I think the first iteration of nerfs wasn't justified but I actually find the current one promising. A science champion randomly reducing ability accuracy by 30% never made sense, it just wasn't fitting no matter how inconsistently beneficial it was at times. Yet again, if Kabam had actually tested her and didn't have double standards for certain defenders, we wouldn't have had these discussions at all. People shouldn't have to wait literally half a year over something Kabam could have at least hotfixed long ago. Maybe terms like balance and competitiveness were all lies after all since they are both objectively non-existent.

Finally, I agree with the DLL comments. His designs are enjoyable but unhealthy and its funny to see people taking shots at him since people used to praise him since forever. Anyone who has ever interacted with him knows about his ego and defensive stance against the slightest criticism no matter the choice of words. If you disagree you disagree and move on as any opposing opinion is of no consequence for him.

Overall I feel like the community doesn't know what they should ask for regarding the game balance and its honestly better to have an objective, clear view rather than taking sides and showing bias. It's not healthy to have broken attackers or to have so much free stuff so easily etc. either. Kabam will always take the route that makes more money though so that's one thing to keep in mind when approaching this problem but I don't know of an absolute solution. I also don't know why this Shathra guy spends so much time on the forums of a community he greatly loathes and looks down upon. Kinda sad considering his old age to spread negativity on a gaming forum all day with no friends to tell wth he's doing with his life 🤔

Curious to see how the Dark Phoenix rebalancing review turns out even though I'm almost certain that she won't be touched. She should be but we all know that she won't. And then come the flood of threads, the radio silence, the youtube videos, and a whole lot of nothing…
