Does the hunger event work as intended?

So about a week ago I got a “gift” from another player and I got the infection, no choice.
When the real event started on Wednesday, I did not get a certain message from Kabam stating that Mr Fantastic looks into this sickness. I’ve since seen the message as a screenshot here in the forums but I did not get it.
I am clearly infected because I can take part in the solo hunger event (4 points so far). But I cannot get anything from either realm event.
Am I too dumb to get this event? What is Kabam up to? Do they deliberately keep people from getting cured? And if so, why can’t I get the rewards from the hunger realm event? I just don’t get it.

the screenshots show that I can receive rewards from the solo hunger event but not from the realm hunger event. And I didn’t get a cure to destroy which should give bonus points as far as I know.

It shows that you have 4 points in both events.

The realm event is only a peak milestone - so you only get whatever the highest achieved reward is. And only when the event is over in 20 days.

Man I was just boutta post the same thing too. It shows that I'm eligible for the rewards but I'm not able to claim any of them. Can anyone please explain cuz this stuffs confusing

Like the guy above says - these are PEAK milestones; so they aren't cumulative, and you can't claim as you go: you get the highest level ('peak') that the community reaches.

This event is going to start slow; because you can only earn one Cure a day; and you can only earn the cure after you've been cured.

Here's how it works:

There are only two ways to join the Cured population: get given it via in-game mail by Mr Fantastic; or be Gifted it by another player.

Then take the Cure.

When you next restart the game, your "Special Daily" objective will contain a dose of the Cure.

Then Gift the Cure to another player.

That's basically it - repeat daily.

If you've got an older account that you don't use much (an 'alt'), log in to see if it's got a Cure from Mr Fantastic.

If it does, cure it, restart the game to reset your Special Daily objective, complete it, then gift the Cure to your Main account.

Gifting the cure is going to start slow, because you can only gift it once per day. However, that can theoretically mean that the cured population can double daily. So it should speed up as time passes; and you can earn points for daily events whilst doing that.

So, don't worry:you should earn the same points getting the Cure on day one as getting it on day twenty

Thanks for the clarification guys. After all, Kabam actually wrote that only non-infected players get the initial mail by Mr Fantastic. They just wrote it here in the forum as part of a longer post (who reads all that stuff?), but there was no information in the in-game mails (those that I normally do read at least if something is unclear).

So I’ll just have to wait for the cure. If someone wants to cure me: Andy999 in-game.

Ohh ok, so if we hit the last milestone (the 4.3mil one for cure the realm and 4mil for the hunger realm) when the event ends, we'll only get the rewards of that last milestone and nothing below it?

kabams anticipation was, that people stay on the hungry side of the event by destroying repeatedly the gifted cure. thus gaining more points than changing sides accepting it. but the explaination of this event is lazy as always … im still unsure wich peak-rewards i get in the end. both (hunger and cure)? the highest? or the event im in at the end?

Just the highest (peak) rewards, from which ever side you're on.

You can't get both.

How do we know if we're infected or cured?

I was gifted one of them last week from an alliance member but I can't remember what it was lol. (All I remember is that it kept popping up on my screen - an annoying glitch.)

I've had no other in-game messages.

Mr Fantastic's cure came out yesterday.

Anything someone gave you last week will have made you infected, if you accepted it.

if you switched sides, like take the cure. Will your solo milestone points reset?
for example I have 4 points now. If I take the cure, will it reset it to zero or will it be 24? 20 points for switching sides?
just worried that if we switch sides during the event, we won’t be able to get the final solo milestone.

Yeah that's something I don't get… they say that Hunger side has the "potential" to earn more cause you can keep destroying the cure - but how many people on the cure side are going to keep sending out cures if it doesn't net them more points than the very first time? It's nonsensical. I'd rather be on the Cure side cause at least then I know I'd be hitting the top milestone whether that side 'wins' or 'loses', but I can't even get anyone to send me the cure!
