Monthly event quest difficulty

Why can’t we choose the level of difficulty that we want to play on the monthly event?

Just because someone has reached a certain level doesn’t mean that they should be forced to play a specific difficulty of content.

I don’t necessarily want to have to grind through tough fights all the time, if ever!

There is more than enough challenging content for people to play if they choose to, i just want to enjoy the game in my own way and that option has now all but been removed by Kabam imo.

I think the game is becoming over complicated and all the fun is being sucked out of it, i personally won’t be playing the event quest anymore and may just quit altogether!

The option is coming in the near future. Keep in mind that choosing a lesser difficulty will also result in choosing lesser rewards.

I understand that lower difficulty means less rewards and wasn’t aware that there were plans to bring that in.

When will it be coming and why wasn’t it available right from the start?

The when is fairly unknown. If it follows the timeline of other adjustments they plan to make, then it will be early next year. My guess though is that it will be sooner than that. It seems that they almost have to rebuild the EQ to make any changes beyond health and attack values.

As far as why it wasn't available, well that's just because Kabam doesn't think through the knock-on effects of changes they make and on top of that they overturned the content pretty much across the board. The overall concept of one difficulty tailored to the individual account isn't bad, it's just their execution that is lacking.

Well maybe they should learn from their past mistakes and not just rush in making changes without any regards for the players and only thinking about how much more money they’re going to make!

That doesn’t make any sense you wouldn’t prioritise reading a book over essential things like eating or drinking and kind of proves my point as well, because Kabam prioritises non essential things i.e changes to event quest over essential things i.e the game running smoothly and working properly all the time!

By all means work on other improvements at the same time but don’t half arse them and rush them out before they’re ready while your game isn’t even working properly, surely it’s more important to have a game that works than be changing things that don’t need to be changed!

I'm not saying they are working to fix things, but you're clearly assuming that they aren't doing anything about the ongoing issues. We've learned that we can't just automatically take them at their word in everything, but they've stated consistently that they are working on those issues and they're difficult issues to fix.

The book analogy actually works pretty well, but think of it from a different angle. You need to eat to survive - do you spend all your time eating? Sleeping? Drinking? Do you ever step away from any of those things for moment even though they are essential to your survival? Of course you do. If you didn't add in other things to your life, the quality of your life would be so poor that it wouldn't be in any way an enjoyable experience. The core game issues of connection problems and wonky AI are necessary solves for the survival of the game, but if they don't also work on other things, like reviving stale content, then the enjoyability of the game goes down regardless. EQ needed a refresh regardless of whatever else was happening. And whether we believe that Kabam has different teams for things or not, they probably didn't stop working on the more serious issues while also working on other improvements.

Nobody is saying Kabam should take their focus off the serious issues. Nobody is saying Kabam hasn't put focus on some pretty stupid or useless stuff in recent months (starting with the website update as a "big" reveal in December). They need to do a better job of planning and rolling out and thinking through the effects of things, but sometimes they also have to shoot their shot. I think we have a bad perspective now because they're running a high miss rate, but at least when it comes to EQ they are taking steps on the right direction. The game is going to die faster if it sits stagnant than if it continues with issues they can't seem to solve. They can work on both and still make the same amount of progress if they were only focused on one thing.

That’s pretty much what i said by all means work on other things as well but it just comes across as though they seem to place more importance on non essential improvements, they may well be working on the other in game issues but they have been going on for a long time now and as far as i can see there is no end in sight!

They shouldn’t be saying we are working hard to fix issues and then introduce half finished content at the same time, they are just giving themselves another problem to solve!
At the very least make sure your improvements are actually improvements and not just another problem waiting to happen!

i did eq , bgs , doing arena - game is running fine.

& there will be bugs - if u check the trello board( even the internal team bug board) everyday there will be some bugs which are active actuvin the game - that doesn't mean they should stop all work to fix them lol

your main point - if EQ feels hard to you ,u need to level up lol not the game need to add lower level

What you need to understand is, different teams work on different parts of the game. There's a team for sales, a team that fixes bugs, a team that creates content, a team that creates champs etc. So if content is coming up short, that is not because they arent also fixing or trying to fix bugs because its two different teams doing two different things. Cut em some slack.

The game is running you are correct but it’s always glitchy and laggy these are fundamental issues that need fixing!

It’s not a matter of levelling up as you say, Kabam should cater for all their players not force them to play the content Kabam think they should be playing!

The content is challenging but doable for me but i don’t want to have to grind my life away on this game!

In the old format i never played above cavalier and had no interest in doing so but i am now forced to play at a level i don’t want to as are many other players!

Kabam should have put more thought into this and allowed players to select which difficulty they wanted to play!

What you need to understand is that these bugs aren’t being fixed and the content creators continually put out half finished tripe!

They make the same mistakes over and over again, thinking that they know what the players want without even asking!

They may have different departments but there will be someone at the top making all the final decisions, signing off on everything!

They make a lot of money so i’m sure they employ capable people, why can’t they just do their jobs?

They keep saying they’ve listened and learned so why do they keep doing the same things?

Yes Kabam make the content but we had a choice before on what level we wanted to play and now they have taken that choice away which is the problem imo!

They want people to play their game then they should give people more options to play, not less!

I’m not annoyed with the game i’m annoyed with Kabam for continually making big changes “for the better” and then having to backtrack or fix things in another way!

They have gotten better in many ways but that doesn’t mean there still isn’t room for improvement, they keep saying that they’re listening to us but they never seem to ask what we want before giving us what they think we want!

Ha no, i thought the first month i had selected the wrong difficulty by mistake so my bad.

I didn’t realise that was the only difficulty that i could choose going forward, i thought it would reset and the next time i could pick a different difficulty.

Where's the fun if there's no jeopardy though? Super casual players bring up that they just play for fun and I get that but where's the fun in just doing a couple of 5 hit combos and a special and watching the defender go bye bye for some low level rewards. That sounds super boring to me.

Think kabam are trying to get players to progress and not stagnate tbh. They probably underestimated how much of the playerbase are happy to sit where they are though.
