They Can't Actually Be Serious LOL

There's been a lot of talk about Dracula being ass, Spider Woman situation, and Nico and Karolina being in danger but... I've seen very few posts regarding how ass this guy is lol and it's annoying because he has the utility to potentially be a top tech champ but the damage and the rotation are horrendous. Not only is the rotation for big damage without sp3 almost impossible to pull off when the nodes are non-vanilla but even when you do pull it off it really isn't that impressive for a:

4/5 in damage? Maybe if you get 5-6 suppressions on them but currently it is impossible to even go over 4 without sp3 and even 4 is stretching it because 4 requires perfect AI cooperation.

This was r3 on r3 violence and I had three suppression passives on him, sp2 still didn't kill and I lost all my ramp completely which extended the fight by about another 20 secs because if he threw an sp1 he would've degened me down to half bar. So, my question now is, where on Earth do they test these champs before they're released RoL WS? Act 2 Cyclops? There is no way in hell anyone would try this guy on quests with tougher nodes like Act 8 or 9 and think "hell yeah that's a 4/5 in damage and a 2.5/5 in ease of use send it!" especially when you consider Kate is a 2.5, Okoye and Karolina are a 4.5 and Nico is a 4. Kabam's telling us this guy has 1.5 more damage than Kate, only 0.5 less damage than Okoye and Karolina, and the same damage output as Nico? Come on guys 🥀

Anyways absolutely laughable, can't wait for the announcement "Maker will be staying as is because our data showed he's performing well in Bronze 3" lmfao

I really like the Maker in theory. But, yeah. Somewhat underwhelming performer and runs out of gas at the last and worst moment.

I kinda see him like Nega in retrospect. The first edition to take on an entire class, but there will be far superior options in 6 months.

i din't believe this was possible with how much people were trashing on him ,but people started to focus more on the heavy and power back than in the mine

S2 being a finisher,rather than the main damage source and it's working and even see high rank players using and being worried about him

But i still want a buff on the mine and rework on the S2

Ive got a r4 maker. You can get some really beautiful bursts on the sp2 or some nice sp3 mine chaining if youre running a full Reed team. (Even base hes my daily quest champion because one heavy kills everyone). On his own, the damage done to hits he lands is pretty good, but that involves alot of dancing around waiting for your evade, holding heavies and pushing the opponents into the mines. So damage done to time spent is very very bad.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind him staying how he is. My main gripe is he does absolutely nothing defensively. After turning champions like Jean, spider woman and Nico into defenders when theyre clearly suppose to be powerful attackers, and abilities that scale to an insane proportion on defense (Im thinking Maw, Onslaught, Terrax.) making the Makers mine do a single percent is borderline criminal. Its off the sp1, its not exactly a hard work around. Just make it detonate and dissappear after 1 explosion on defense and keep its damage at an acceptable level.

You cant, in 2025, make a champion that's mid offensively, have nothing on defense and act as a counter to a champion that I dont think has had as much meta relevance as once hoped for.

Overall, love the champion, love the kit, love his animations and play style. Just please, make him do SOMETHING. Anything!

That's what I'm afraid of, that he ends up in a similar situation as Leader and Nefaria where they counter the same things but Nefaria is ten times better in nearly every situation except for fights where you want the strong heal reversal

Ghost has a way to increase her sp2 damage output by a lot without having to do any extra steps or gaining more power, this guy doesn't unless you go for sp3 first because you can't stack more than four suppressions without that sp3. As for Quake, that's completely irrelevant too because Quake isn't broken because of the damage output, it's the fact that she can kill without landing any hits, the damage output by itself isn't anything too crazy.

That is the only viable way to play him but the issue is fights become a little too long when you play him like that, and again there will be metas that disrupt that loop completely. If they allowed him to gain two suppressions per mine trigger instead of one that problem would be fixed tho. He really doesn't need a lot that change alone would improve his damage massively, it's a very small change that would make a huge difference.

The best i can think for his defensive value is make the Tactic evade a punishment for Intercept and apply his pre fight on defense,2 copies of each and everytime you are able to intercept with special or using Anti evade you remove one of them,each passive effect increases the damage of the mine and as long you can remove or avoid S1 you can deal with him

(Looking better this seems kind of annoying rather than hard to fight)

And there was a major uptick of 7* Captain Britain in BG decks this season.

I got two Titans to open with the Nexus we get… whenever. If I dupe him, I’m almost being held hostage to rank him.

And there will be someone in the March Titan update that can kill her in 40 seconds, who isn’t as reliant on BG’s disdain for parry/heavy.

That would be a simpler solution but i would go with the route of giving his specials the burst from his heavy but less potent, it's smaller forms of damage in huge amount that would help the mine overcharge to finish the fight faster

specialy how the S2 have 12 hits soo even half of the damage of the burst would be huge

(S1 does the burst normaly but S2 only trigger the burst after overcharge the mine,a bit if extra spacing but you usually can go around that)

Owning an r4 Maker you don't really use the SP2 until you need to finish the fight, otherwise you can rely on the high damage from the mines.

Otherwise I would buff the Suppression duration and allow him to dump some of his power at 3 bars like how Sentinel does to like reactivate the mine immediately.

that’s because the Maker with high skill can perform all of the jobs that Kabam told us he could. Whereas Dracula cannot. For proof check out GRASSMCOC. He played both Battlegrounds and actual content (not RoL WS like how some content creators do when they want to make a quick buck and not actually play test)

Yes he can he’s just very slow. As for Maker I have watched all the videos, I’m aware he can do it and when he works he works but there is very little room for error he’s extremely AI reliant and he’s basically useless against non mutants. Is he decent? Yes, but he needs a way to keep the suppressions up more reliably

That’s the main issue I have the passives either fall out too quick or are sometimes too hard to stack because of AI or metas in general, the burst on heavies is perfectly fine it’s just the passives that I have an issue with

That could work too, I don’t really care what route they go I just hope that sp2 damage goes up. Heavy damage is fine it’s just the sp2 one that desperately needs to go up so he’s a little faster and he can actually punch a rank above without having to use sp3

Capt. Britain is the sole reason I decided to take this guy up to r3 and he’s in my deck now but I wish he was more reliable for other defenders from other classes as well as able to punch a rank above without being very slow.

he can take down Enchantress, deathless thanos (*Sigh), Yelena, Arnim Zola, etc. Not sure where the “Only takes down mutants” narrative is coming from. The SP1 into a heavy attack spam rotation seems to work just fine. Even on High evolutionary, he kind of reminds me of QS (wait…) matter of fact you’re right. Definitely needs a tune up!

With as many threads on Karolina, Nico and Maker as we've had in the past few weeks how long will it take for the devs to finally say something about possible nerfs/buffs? I've only been playing for some months so I have no idea how rebalancing works or if they are usually predictable about making these announcements.

The narrative is coming from the fact he’s on the slow side for those unless he’s punching a rank below, even for same rank it takes roughly 60-80 secs to take down all the defenders you mentioned. I’m not even going to bother talking about punching a rank above because I did a r4 Sentinel with my own r3 already and I straight up timed out:

I understand you’re more annoyed by the fact that Dracula is ass, and I’m not claiming he is as bad as him or Joaquin but saying Maker is fine as is and doesn't need a tune up at all because he does same rank Zola Enchantress Yelena Thanos in 60-80 secs (which isn’t impressive in the slightest and is perfectly beatable with other champs) is just very egregious. His damage isn’t bad and to a certain extent it is there technically, the only problem is it’s locked completely behind that sp3 which is for obvious reasons completely unreliable in BGs and just not accessible unless you’re playing in Bronze 3 or literally any game mode that isn’t BGs.

I probably won't find many people agreeing with me on this but I think adding the other lore accurate immunities to his kit is a must. What reason is even good enough to justify not giving a character an immunity they have for a lore related reason? having immunity to reverse controls and neuroshock but not poison and bleed is completely arbitrary; to fall in line with his lore his design even features the facial scar he got from HT. This sort of incongruency just makes the game look dumb.

Oh, you needed another tech champion to counter mutants with neuroshock and reverse control? giving him extra immunities would be superfluous? then why choose Maker to be this champion and not someone else?

I mean the Maker has a good kit and a satisfying playstyle imo. He's very versatile and reliable against an insane range of matchups as I'm sure you're aware.

Honestly if they make his Suppressions longer that will basically make his SP2 a more reliable fight finisher. That or they could buff the SP2 damage outright.

Or they could give him a clause to make his get his mine sooner (i.e one bar of power or have it spawn in leader green door style and have a longer initial activation time at first)

Onslaught is a 3.5 in damage while maker and dracula are both 4’s. Never forget that everyone knew kabam is uniquely unqualified to rate champions and that this logic was completely made up in order to nerf spider woman

I don't disagree with that first part, tech utility is off the charts, and the heavy burst playstyle is satisfying. What I have an issue with is the fact that the sp2 doesn't allow you to reliably close out fights against defenders that are either a rank above or from a different class in respectable time because it's hard to get that many suppressions on the defender unless you have vanilla nodes. Realistically most fights you will only get 3, if there was a way to reach 5 or even 6 without having to go for sp3 he would be a top tech champ easily and fit that spotlight description a lot better. I really don't see how that would break him completely on attack you still have the mine cooldown to prevent you from just spamming extra heavy bursts every couple of seconds. So yes, either making suppressions longer or making it so every mine trigger applies two instead of one, I'd be happy with either of those changes.

Another good shout would be to pull a Northstar and redistribute the Suppression effects across 4 instead of 6 so you could get better damage more quickly.

Then again I feel that change would take away from the SP3's oomph because I feel like Kabam designed the Maker to work off of 3-4 suppressions without the SP3, with the SP3 enabling an SP2 with 6 suppressions. I mean they would know how short those Suppressions are.
