Everyone's Talking About Dark Phoenix but...

What about the champs that needed some slight tweaks because they were either overperforming slightly or underperforming slightly, or straight up ****? They mentioned no champ will receive any other changes unless they're impacting game health massively so what now? Dracula and High Evo staying ****? Maker, Cassandra, Cyclops, staying mid? Nico staying slightly op?

If the answer is yes then here's my other question, are they genuinely trying to kill the game now? Whoever's been designing champs this year has been missing the mark a lot with all the bs defenders and mid counters for said bs defenders, yes there are some exceptions but at least half the champs this year were either bs defenders or mid counters for said defenders. How are they going to ensure we don't get more mid trash that just stays mid in the future because of the rebalancing program being dead? Such a frustrating situation all they had to do was give away Dark Phoenix for free during Banquet...

He's looking at all the defenders I mentioned from a vanilla node perspective. Bullseye on this upcoming dot GC meta is going to be very annoying to deal with because no Gentle, no Bastion, and Sinister is very risky because if you don't time the protection with the degens and his initial purifies well you will essentially be stuck below one bar of power for the rest of the fight with no way to gain more power, and Sinister doesn't exactly hit hard with his basics maybe that 40% fury passive will help but it's only 12 seconds and then you're back to dealing no damage andbbaiting sp1s so while doable it'll be an extremely long fight, possible timeout. This leaves us with only Negasonic Onslaught Okoye and maybe Solvarch as viable counters, one of these Solvarch isn't exactly known for being the best quickest Bullseye counter tho that sp3 skip button will help, and the other one Onslaught will take a good amount of block damage because he has no way to deal with the evade. This goes for every other bs defender I mentioned, I guess Bullseye and Zola can be subjective for some people but you get the whole point.

Gentle and Bastion both have easily applicable DOTs, and Onslaught is a very safe Bullseye counter, I regularly use him in standard metas and basically always come out with only around 5% health loss. Not sure why any of those would suck against Polka Dot Power Bullseye.

(Also, Onslaught kinda can deal with Bullseye’s evade since he can hit him while he’s Parry Stunned, but yeah that doesn’t really count).

That’s my mistake I forgot about the rupture cause I never use it, Bastion’s disintegrate however doesn’t grant power. You’re more than welcome to try him in the polka dot node in war and I assure you it won’t work, I know because I’ve done it and it’s the same thing with FAM there is a weird interaction with disintegrate that just doesn’t register the passives and debuffs as dot so you gain no power. If they fix it before the meta is out then fair enough but last time I tried it a couple weeks ago that wasn’t the case.

War’s version of Polka Dot Power is an old one that only checks for Debuffs. Based on the description, this meta’s using the updated version that they’ve used in previous BG metas that works for both Debuff and Passive DOTs.

And to what I imagine is your delight (mine too I absolutely hated node 49), they very recently changed that node to also use the updated Polka Dot Power node so Passive DOTs now work. Announcement if you missed it:

The description in alliance war said damaging effect tho, but yeah that’s interesting and really good news cause I was a little worried about Bullseye and I actually decided not to run Bastion because of that fact. This changes things a bit, regardless the point I was trying to make is that metas already limit counters for certain defenders and therefore I think receiving multiple chip damage trap defenders in a single year is taking the game in the wrong direction

I think Dracula's sp1 should show him sucking on the opponent's neck. He should regenerate health (like Rogue's sp1) while also inflicting a bleed on opponent.

His sp2 should show him slashing the opponent, causing massive bleed.

His sp3 shows Dracula grabbing and embracing the opponent, cause the opponent to bleed and have reduced damage and increased chance to miss on basic attack.

Dracula’s kit is DOA, but also a death by 1000 needles. He needs a lot of changes. His sig ability is nonsensical, he’s grossly under tuned (arguably should have a 20% base attack and health upgrade) he doesn’t work with any modified stat boosts which makes him cringe and doesn’t even make any **** sense. His power control is tacky, he has limited mystic dispersion despite not having any power gain, he is completely missing out on all of his vampiric immunities and interactions (but he still has a healing reduction against silver?) the raw healing from specials is weak, his invisibility is weak, his fear passive doesn’t make sense because he can’t handle the chip damage, and it’s not like he automatically goes invisible during specials or has some unique way to counter these things. His SP2 damage is also usually lower than his SP1 damage due to a lack of nullification opportunities, nullify is an old and washed up mechanic, he also uses a passive slow to counter unstoppable when there are literally newer effect's that can do it better.

So my question is, who decides when we’re going to use a newer piece of utility that is more likely to make a champion UP TO DATE, versus when champ designers just whip out mechanics from 6 years ago? Even his tags are so disrespectful, make him metal without any psychic shielding. Give him armor break based damage as if he won’t die immediately to the raw damage numbers. Make him a villain despite his bio and even the EQ explicitly blurring the lines of his morality (although Magneto is still a villain so whatever), then cop out by cloning him in the game so we can still fight him as the big bad, just so we can embarrass him due to Dracula not being a defender (which is also a highly suspect decision in big 2025). He’s also not a Legion of monsters so he can’t even benefit from something like a vicious buff even though Kabam wants us to believe that he’s a DOT attacker that warrants time in AQ raids (I have a 7 star rank 4 sig 200…. I’m here to tell everyone right now that he’s terrible In virtually every mode except incursions)

and now he can’t be “rebalanced” due to Dark Phoenix killing the program. So K hope that Kabam will take their time and really sit down and fix these champions that have come out over the last 3 months. And I don’t expect the trend to improve with the new spider man.

how about we make really good hero’s that don’t need specific counters because everyone ( or a lot) can deal with them in some way? What if we cut out the insane Bs skilless abilities and instead make fun nodes and synergies? ( also why can’t we make synergies work in BGs? I think it’s fun af and help diversify the ban pool)
