Can't Play BGs

I want to play some BG matches this evening but I've gotten matched up with two modders in the last two days and they're still in my bracket (M1). One of them was even caught modding on Nick136's stream. Both of these modders are online right now and not a lot of other people are playing so it's a very high chance that if I play I will be matched against them and lose valuable points.

Now I'm not one of these people who thinks modding is a crime and I'm sure they're just teenage losers from God knows what country, so I'm not even angry at them. But I do think it's kind of ironic that while Kabam is out celebrating the summoner's fest and presenting the brawl as a big centerpiece of their game, people like me who are spenders, who are fully engaged, and care about BG and want to play, basically are dissuaded from doing so because of Kabam's inability or refusal to actually look out for victims of cheaters.

For example, even if it takes a long time to review the cheating reports and ban someone, that would be understandable and acceptable if Kabam also compensated the victims in some way. Maybe not giving them extra points like Karate Mike gave to Lagacy when he was playing a cheater, but at least taking back the lost points would give some peace of mind and allay the concerns about getting matched up with them.

Just posting to add that at least twice this season a modder has reached podium, and been banned only after reaching podium.

But think about how many players have to lose points to a modder as he climbs all the way to podium? With no redress or compensation whatsoever.

And why does it take someone reaching podium to get prompt action from Kabam? Is the anti-modding policy more about optics than actual fairness?

Yeah, it's been bad. I just don't know what to do. Everything I do in this game at this point is motivated by the BG mode. My spending, my grinding, my practice/learning, all of it only matters because it helps my BG performance and that's the mode I enjoy.

And I don't mind losing because of bad luck, bad skills, or bad roster. But losing points to modders at the higher tiers and seeing them just hang out there for weeks makes the whole game seem pointless to me.

Again, I don't blame the modders. That's like blaming a bird for taking a dump on your car. And I don't blame Kabam per se, I have no idea what their priorities and constraints are. I'm just expressing my disappointment (expressing it mostly to myself since this thread has zero interest to others).

The fomo and competitive aspects of the radiance chase through the BG mode, as Crashed hailed it upon introduction, seems hollow and fake due to Kabam's inability or refusal to fairly compensate victims of modders. It has made me not want to play BGs, which in turn makes it pointless for me to spend and grind the other modes.

There's always more cheaters when there are more rewards in battlegrounds

Kabam needs to invest more resources in catching the cheaters, if a cheater has 300 points when he is banned, it means players lost 300 points to this cheater and it's kinda too late

What criteria should I look out for, to spot a modder? My champs are only 10-19k hero rating, so if I face someone with nothing but 7*s and all 28-38k, I just assumed BG mostly has higher players, and I gotta max my 6*s

So we have only a couple of days left in the season and the two modders I've faced are still ruining matches for the honest players in Mysterium and Celestial. I've even seen one of them mod against multiple content creators on stream, with all the celestial players in the chat sharing their own experiences against this modder. They have all reported him, it has been weeks, and still no ban whatsoever.

Yet when Lagacy faced a modder on stream during the brawl qualifiers, people from kabam literally jumped in and banned the modder DURING THE MATCH.

And again, I'm not blaming Lagacy in any way for that. I'm just saying, Kabam presents BG as a centerpiece of the game's competitive race but allows it to be treated as a joke due to the impunity with which all but the most flagrant and idiotic modders are allowed to run rampant.
