Counterpoint: This GC meta is actually great

For one simple reason — the AI behavior combined with the intercept node forces everyone to take risks. Which mitigates the importance of the draft somewhat. If you get out drafted, it’s still worthwhile to play the match, and that’s something you really couldn’t say about a couple of recent metas.

That's what I said in group chat earlier today.

-You can't lose to whales just because of drafts... it needs some level of skill.

-I also mentioned this meta does have a skill requirement, the celestial guys are constantly getting 48-50k scores. The game doesnt have different ai for those guys.

I hear you. Wouldn’t say it’s enjoyable, but I prefer the chaos over the draft-dependent predictability of the last few seasons.

it’s still draft dependent. If anything it’s more draft dependent now: using Dark Phoenix as an example, you can’t use Nico as you normally would cause you can lose your buff immunity. You can’t use rely on Spiral either for Serpent because the ruptures will fall off

IMO, those two specific examples aren’t enough to say it’s more draft dependent than previous metas. I would still say this one is much less sensitive to draft, and therefore, more entertaining.

How is this meta not draft dependent? Champs like red skull, dust and destroyer can easily f you up.

Oh did I mention enchantress? It is almost impossible to defeat her without spiderwomen, there is almost no time to damage her within the short window.

I keep forgetting about the protection :D I had a Bastion v Bullseye match going well but taking FOREVER and I couldn't figure out why - then the next match I spotted the Protection and then though…oh…yeeeeah…

6* torch did fine vs a rank3 entrant. I played like cr@@p but he only took 59 seconds.

Maybe I wasn’t clear in my original thought. It’s not that the draft doesn’t matter, because of course it does. What I’m saying is that I like this meta because the draft doesn’t matter AS MUCH because the intercept node creates chaos. You can get out drafted in this meta and it’s still worth playing the match because there’s a much, much higher chance that your opponent will make a mistake or get screwed by the AI.

Because gameplay and RNG factors contribute more to the equation this month, this meta feels less like an rpg card game where just drawing the best / meta champs is enough to almost guarantee you a win.

I kinda agree as this is the first time ever that I have made it past 100 points in GC. Granted I was pushing it for the solo event but still
