Sidequest

You guys need to stop coming up with quests that are all A.I. related. This sidequest that you have to finish a fight within 60 seconds makes no sense at all. Those defenders make no effort to attack you, which makes intercepting for a fury very difficult. I keep having to do those fights over and over again in the hope the A.I is cooperative. What is the fun in this? that you have to finish a battle in 60 seconds is fine, but make sure that the AI is in order in such quests

I was actually surprised at how much the AI becomes aggressive in this SQ. It sounded crazy at first reading the node but it's been fairly easy to do with the exception of Wolverine for some reason and the only defender I couldn't beat was Gentle but I was baiting his sp2 not knowing what comes with it. Spiderwoman came to the rescue after restarting my run.

it seems that i have horrible A.I i think spme fights i needed to restart 3 to 4 times

And I thought this SQ was solid. Quick and easy. The only fight I timed out was Northstar, as he didn't threw sp1, but second round nuked him.

This was nice change of pace... simple execution. Love it.

The most difficult fight for me was Gentle. I fought him with 7 star Iron Man rank 2. I thought it was going to be easy but not. He was very aggressive and my attacks weren’t powerful. I was going to rank him to rank 3 but I’m saving my resources for other characters. I activated suicide masteries and boosts and I finally beat him. The battles can be done with 7 stars ranked one and 2. The worst part is that you need 10 characters of the saga.

Intercepts aren’t really worth it. Works better to just go ham.

This is what I found too. Trying to get intercepts at the beginning of the fight wasted 20+ seconds from the timer. Better to fight normally and the intercepts happen naturally. Didn’t need that many anyway.

in my case best side quest in a long time… I lost a few fights because I was waiting for the intercept… but then I just went more aggressive and it became a littler easier… the only downside (for me) is that it is saga related champions I have fewer ranked to keep up the good fight

Its just to force people to spend on rank up materials. Kabam has become the void of creativity and completely thrown in the towel.

I liked the timed fights. Good practice for BGs where it’s not just about getting a KO but also about knowing how your champs work to do it in the most effective way. Theres no cost of entry and you can do the fight as many times as it takes to get it right. Takes the pressure right off and allows you to take risks and try new approaches without fear of failure.

The whole point of this game is acquire new characters, rank them up and fight with them. What exactly were you expecting from this game?

don’t waste your time or mental energy trying to intercept. Just play normally and it’ll be more efficient.

I guess but it will heavily depend on the strength of one's roster. l'm forced to use a few 7R1 champs here and there making the intercepts a must in those cases.

to be able to choose who I want to rank up and those that are worth it. Not just so I have enough ranked champs to get through content that you could easily do with 1 ranked champ. I expected just a little creativity but that's just my opinion.

I agree. But dont waste your time complaining here, most of people that will respond are either Valiant players with all r3 and some r4 7*s. Whales and people that play too much. I understand you might want to do the highest difficulty but you have to choose the difficulty that fits your roster…and skill. Use boosts and rank up specific champions, you will get there eventually. FOMO hits hard, but is not a real thing here, its a game, have fun playing it. If the content frustrates you, don play it, or do it in a lower difficulty. Good luck!

You can do some vanilla defender fights with 6r4s and 7r1s without even using boosts; but ok...

This was ok but the last 2 quests had too many fights for this limied pool. I did it all w/o restarting any fights but it was a bit of a headache using 6* r3 or r4 champs

Yeah agreed with the general sentiment that this was a really fun and straightforward side quest, but by the time I got to the 2 quests of chapter 3 where there were 10 matches each, and I'm just reusing the same Saga champs over and over again, it got pretty limiting.

I shudder slightly to think about how many matches the chp4 section will be next week because I'm not going to be very successful using champs like The Maker and High Evolutionary to 'nuke' down the defenders.

Best part of Top of the Charts is that you keep the health if you lose .the fight.

Do you have unlocked suicide masteries?, if you do just play with them and you can complete the figths even with 7*rank 1.

i found gentle pretty easy with jean … go for the big sp2 dmg and the fight is over at the halftime mark.

jean itself was tricky, because of the constant reversed controls. bastion did the job but had to restart a couple of times

I do think they should have added the "this defender has a preference for dash attacks" node, it would make it a lot easier. I've been doing some of the fights with 6* r1 and r2s, and with 7-8 furies you can just baarrrely make it in under one minute if everything falls into place, but the ai is never cooperative. It takes a ton of restarting. sometimes 10-15 per fight. instead of making the ai aggressive for this quest, they do the **** where they turtle your attempts to intercept and instantly reverse intercept you. It's actually insanely annoying. But overall I like the no energy component and the bit of challenge.

All the level 5s have been doable with the right 6 rank 4 and 7 rank 1s. You don’t need to be a whale to have plenty of those, although playing the game off and on for 7 years does help.

I don't have the deepest roster of saga champs (not a single 7*R3), so I thought I would share which attackers I used for the defenders in Top of the Charts 3.2 (threat level 5)… in case it helps any one else out there with a limited saga roster.

DEFENDER → ATTACKER → RARITY → FIGHT DURATION

Storm → Inf. Iron Man → 7*R2 Unduped → 21 sec

Northstar → Bastion → 6*R4 Sig46 → 50 sec

Deadpool X-Force → Apocalypse → 6*R4 Sig80 → 53 sec

Sunspot → Cassandra → 7*R1 Unduped → 51 sec

Dani → Zola → 7*R2 Unduped → 48 sec

Ice Man → Ultron → 7*R1 Unduped → 41 sec

Magneto → High Evolutionary → 7*R2 Unduped → 44 sec

Jean → Fantman → 6*R5 Sig162 → 55 sec

Gentle → Jean → 7*R2 Unduped → 48 sec

Dazzler → Spider-Woman → 7*R2 Sig53 → 45 sec

Turned out I didn’t have enogh 6R1+ for the last quest on the highest level, so I had to move to level 4 to be able to manage the 60 sec limit.
Wouldn’t be a problem with 6R1s if we had more than 60 secs tho…idc to much about the exploration rewards for this quest, but its kinda annoying.
