Dust vs. Capt Britain

I’m thinking about who my next Mutant R4 might be. I’ve got a strong preference for dual threats, but do occasionally R4 defenders. I’m pretty happy with Dust - have her at R3 and find she does quite well on BGs defense and occasionally on offense. I’ve read a lot about Captain Britain but frankly haven’t used her much. She is currently sitting at R1 unawakened, but I have both the event AG and a Mutant Ag so could conceivably awaken her since I’ve got all the other key mutants already awakened.

Curious as to what folks think of CB vs. Dust - which is the better dual threat? Which is the better defender?

Captain Britain is by far the better defender and a very underrated attacker, there are maybe currently 1-2 solid counters to her in the game, awaken her, put as many sigs as possible into her, just make sure you have decent counters to her for your deck as a lot of people have ranked her up recently post event

Captain britain is actually the worst defender in the game en, I would even rate her higher than dark pheonix. There are only like 10 champs who can actually kill her and even then there are like 2-3 champs who can actually kill her without losing much time or health.

Yeah I didn't realize what an absolute monster she was gonna be on defense and only have myself to blame for not buying the double track but a loooottttt of YouTubers were saying "oh she's not that good of a defender." Wish I hadn't listened.

Definitely Capt. Britain, she's actually very underrated on attack. Thanks to the sp3 skip she can do someone like Nick faster than most champs, she can also handle Korg really well and doesn't have to worry about thorns at all, and then of course she's going to be very good for the occasional 7* KP since that was her main matchup even pre buff and that one is a nuke fest because it's really easy to stack a ton of neuros on him.

Her value however does come mostly from defense (she is in my opinion the worst defender in the entire game right now yes even worse than Serpent) BUT she has to be awakened, if she's unawakened there are five champs that can take her out: Maker, Solvarch, Bastion, Jack and Yondu. If she's awakened however she neutralizes Jack completely cause she removes all his positive energy resistance and he won't be able to heal any of the neuro damage.

However, the thing is even with Solvarch and Bastion you still have to slow play and not hit her while psionic mode is active because any neuros you get on you will tick faster and are paused until the mode ends so having just one or two on you will make you lose a good amount of hp. This leaves Maker and Yondu, Yondu can do it by hitting on block only but it's not exactly the fastest tho it is very reliable. As for Maker, he's the only champ currently that can actually stay aggressive against her and do whatever he wants because he's fully neuroshock immune but due to this rotation it's also usually a 60 sec fight which isn't bad by today's standards but can potentially be a beatable score.

Yes, Capt. Britain over Dust and I would 100% pop that gem on her too

I was wondering about capt brit other day as I faced her in bg and my shuris health just melted away. I didnt understand what happened. Thanks for the writeup, sometimes i prefer the old reading method while knowing about a champ than YT. It stays in your mind, time to rank up maker 😊

Yeah no, crits is the last thing you want against her lol I’ve seen people manhandle her with Prowler but you have to be a really good Prowler player to pull it off. If you want to play it the safest way possible, Maker is the way to go full neuroshock immunity. I highly advice you watch some gameplay tho cause you have to use his kit properly to deal damage

Or you can take risk with bastion and stay aggressive to kill her faster, ignoring psionic mode, trusting on bastion's AAR. That's how I do it although it's not reliable always.

Why jack doesn't work against duped cap? Just Have to play it slowly.

Shocker should work, but that b*tch has safeguard so his big heavy gets capped.

And shuri is the last champ you use against her cuz if you inflict bleed or shock you get neuros too.

It's definitely doable but it's a risk I prefer not to take because if she places two or three you're going to start taking a **** ton of damage and in Mysterium hp matters a lot, but it is possible yes, just wouldn't recommend it personally unless you've had crazy RNG and you're one sp1 away from finishing her off.

Because her sig ability reduces your energy resistance by a percentage per neuroshock and they can stack all the way up to 100% so your healing ends up getting overpowered by the neuroshock damage if she has three or more on you, if she has only one or two you won't melt completely but you will be losing some hp slowly. You can slowplay it but it turns into a 90-100 sec fight because Jack needs to stay aggressive or his inflamed passives start to fall off and if those fall off you lose your damage and the little energy resistance you had left. Trust me things go South really fast, it's the main reason I have now retracted my statement and I'm about to r4 Bastion over Jack next week when I buy another Odin's lol

Unfortunately you need either dot or bursts of damage because she's very tanky with that safeguard which will prevent your heavies from doing that much damage, so Shocker also a big no.

Yeah you are right till now I only faced cap britain one rank below so it's easy to punch down but if it's r4 vs r4 you have to sacrifice either time or health. I hope she remains exclusive so we don't need ot face her in every damn match.

if you have “ the Maker “ rankedup i should rank Cap britain the maker is i think the only good counter that doesn’t lose lots of health against her because of neuroshock immunity

Tilapia was parrying attuma which shrugged thr stun and replaced it with a neuroshock, so he reparried full 5 hit combos near perfectly to build an absurd amount of neuroshocks and then used 2 sp1s across the fight without any basic attacks to kill and win the round.
